Thing is, Weidman losing by sub and Aldo losing by KO have never happened. Which makes it both hard to pick, and excellent.

Don't forget that Weidman trains at Serra Longo for BJJ on top of being the division's most decorated wrestler. Rockhold looks more dynamic on the feet, but CW's pressure game is very effective.

More than either fight, I really hope Jacare looks as impressive as ever and earns his shot.

Faber on the undercard.^_^

Faber likes being top of the undercard on PPV's so do the UFC. For him he gets more money than most of the guys on the main card and more people watch the Fox Sport prelim shows than the actual PPV card in America so great exposure for him. For the UFC they get a big name who has exciting fights to lead into the PPV. They have done that a few times with Faber and everyone is happy with it.

I'm pumped for this card now. But I'm also gutted that I tend to watch these over breakfast on Sunday than with beer on an evening these days.

I really don't know what to pick. There's chatter being spread to some sites that Aldo's planning to retire, win or lose. That sounds like excellent bullshit bet-hedging: you're either in a great place to negotiate for big $$$ with Dana as the Mac-Slayer, or you can give the old "My heart wasn't in it, it's time for the new generation. (But really, if my heart was in it, I'd have won. I'm just tired of winning. Obvs.)" speech.

I'm going to go Aldo by TKO. He may be less mobile than Mac, but he has way more tools on the ground, and his boxy movement has wrecked many people. Also, I always pick the old guard. Picked Shogun against Jones, Nog against Cain, and Silva against Weidman.

At MW, it's crazy to even guess. I'm going to suggest that Weidman's wrestlebox pressure game might be the perfect MMA game, and he takes it. But it'll be fun to find out.

Also, for the other fight, I'm going Jacare because his beasting of Mousasi made him inherit my previous love for Gegard. JACARE! Remember how dull Jacare/Rockhold was a few years ago, and how savage it would be now?

For Conor, I almost think the delay has worked in his favour. I'm genuinely bored with all of his talk and how he's constantly being pushed by the UFC, so god knows how Aldo feels.

Ideal situation would be an Aldo win and then him telling Dana to go fuck himself post-fight.

Weidman I'd prefer to win as I just can't stand Rockhold. The Countdown show alone is enough to give you a taste of what a twat he is.

Soon as I heard Namajuna was once ranked number 4 I knew Van Zant wasn't going to win. The UFC are proper pushing the over the top clean cut people (van zant, northcut) but there's only so far they can go before they actually have to fight someone legit.

Think Edgar will beat Mendes - they look weirdly similar.

In the open workouts I noticed Rockhold and Conor were proper loose with their movement (flashy kicks, transitions) while Weidman and Aldo were rigid. Be interesting to see if that means fuck all come fight night.

if anybody is overloading and thinking of skipping last nights event I'd recommend watching Barbosa v Ferguson - its like a video game

I'm really excited by the main card, apart from Maia and Nelson which I think will be an awful watch & a bit of a snoozefest

So hard to call the top 3 fights but I think I'll go for Jacare, Weidman & Conor but all of these fights have a big unknown element in them with the fighters not able to use IV's after weight cut.

if anybody is in any doubts or asks me what is intensely dislikable about Rockhold and Cormier I'd get them to watch the latest embedded video when Rockhold makes his manager spar with him, much to the delight of Cormier.

Jock bully cunts the pair of them.

The weight cut Conor takes is insane, he looks like a crackhead. No wonder he's moving up, he's a big dude for the division.

Rockhold is gold, however, if they weren't fighting I can easily see them being "bros" together.

I thought the same. There's no way the UFC will let him stay at 145lbs unless they want another weight cut related death on their hands like One FC. Same day weigh-ins need to be implemented.

If Aldo had actually fought Conor yesterday he'd probably have killed him.
