listening to Ronda Rousey on Joe Rogan - she's coming across really well so far and is showing a side of her that you never hear in pre or post fight press

I think she's turned into a right preachy twat tbh.

All this fem crap she spouts while she's been cheating with a married man who's been suspended for domestic violence.

Or hanging out with convicted rapist Mike Tyson.

She was a total nutjob on her season coaching TUF. It shined a light on whats she is really like away from her carefully maintained media image. Still a fan of her as a fighter though.

I have intel that she was sleeping with Dana White for about a year.

which makes Dana White a shit, he's the married one, as is Travis Brown

I stand by my my view that she came across well, she's an interesting imperfect character and may well be batshit crazy but she has a level of drive and commitment that very few people have. She's an interesting champion and I'll take her any day over the selection of dullard blokes thanking jesus for everything who have nothing to say on anything.

I quite liked her but then I do always seem to go for crazy.

whats has Jimi M done to deserve a fight with Rumble, he's massively outmatched in that.

It was originally AJ vs Jan Blachowicz, at least Manuwa is top 10.

Well excited for this. Seems like ages since a decent MMA event.

I'd missed that - vid below shows him having a go at a few more

I love what Conor has done with Aldo, its the same thing Jose M did to Pep in Spain, he's made it miserable and poisonous for Aldo to be champ and made it totally personal. Guardiola cracked and quit his beloved Barca rather than stay another season with the incessant hassle from Mourinho, signs are that Aldo is going the same way

If you don't like Conor it will drive you nuts. If you like him its hilarious. He sets up future fights with dos Anjos, Cerrone and Duffy by pissing them all off, doesent shut up and takes over the whole thing. He knows what he is doing but this is not some act like Chael or Josh Barnett where they cut WWE style promos and admit later its all an act to sell tickets, Conor is like this all the time. He reminds me off a young Naseem Hamed, gifted, cocky and has huge self belief in himself as a fighter. Hamed eventually met his match in Barrera who broke him, remains to be seen if Aldo can do the same.

Ouch at Cerrone saying Conor had never beaten anyone of note whilst sat right next Mendes, who gave him a wtf look after.

I thought the same for Mendes, Orion!

I have to say, I hated Conor in front of the cameras talking himself but, but sitting there, callling out all of those UFC prospects is hilarious. So funny. And exciting, because he is legit.

Anyway, I just woke up and Johnson vs Manuwa, Mir vs Arlofski, and Dodson vs Might Mouse are about to come 8-) .

Looks good.

I'm thinking Rumble will get rocked by Jimi then add him to the highlight reel.

Mir vs Arlovski - Mir should take this which is why I'm going with Arlovski as Mir tends to lose motivation when he's the favourite.

Mighty Mouse vs Dodson - Mighty Mouse by decision. More internet backlash about the flyweight division.

Can't tell if I'm getting better at predictions or the matchmaking has reached a new low.

i thought it was a pretty ropey main card - don't think any of the fights will linger long in the memory and all of the fights were quite dull

like Joe Rogans calling of Paige VZ, urging the UFC not to throw her in too quickly with Joanna J too quickly as she'll get minced.

Paige reminds me of anna kournikova; stunning but never going to win anything. Plus this is mma, there's only so long they can keep her safe before she gets mauled.

UFC 191 appears to be the lowest UFC gate since the dark ages of MMA (UFC 41 - Tim Sylvia vs Rico Rodridguez) - that's quite an impressive slide tbh

Lowest Vegas-based PPV gate I believe. Still pretty shit though. Seems odd that they are reluctant to put DJ in co-mains, he's never going to sell a PPV on his own. Especially if he keeps fighting the same guys over and over (hopefully Formiga or Cejudo can pull out a surprise).

You talking Flyweight (125), rather than Strawweight (115)?

If I was DJ, I'd concentrate on beating Silva's 10 title defense record (he's on 7, so could conceivably get it done within 18 months), which should secure a HoF position for him. At that point, he should check out the 135 landscape again - I'd like to see him take on TJ, even if he's small. He has a much more rounded MMA game than anyone in Fly, Bantam, or Featherweights.

They need to be co-main events though - people don't want them as mains. They want Conor winning fictional titles and seeing HW's doubled over, breathing heavily. Either that, or the division needs a mini MacGregor of their own; it's only 2 years ago that people said the 145 division would never draw.

Got Cormier vs Gustafsson coming up next, but I just can't care. Both got title shots coming off losses, and made a previously white-hot division start stinking badly. If Rashad beats Bader on the same card, the division stagnates even further. How on earth did Bader become the most interesting title fight in the division?

On the up side, Rumble's using his wrestling again. Hopefully this means he can learn to conserve energy, and keep those explosive fists in play for more than a round and a half.

I don't know if I really give a shit about any UFC events, barring an occasional fight, before December at this stage, and that includes UFC Dublin which I'm going to.

Next up is Barnett vs. Nelson with Mousasi/Hall as the co-main. Both of those fights have potential stink all over them and the rest of the card is unremarkable. There is a slight chance that Hall will rediscover his killer instinct (very slight, I suspect Mousasi by decision) and I would like to see Josh take down Roy and torture him with nasty catch wrestling so here's hoping.

UFC 192 is a weak main card. I'm kinda interested in Cormier/Gus but I agree with you about that division, it is in the doldrums without Jones - even so, who would Jones be fighting at this stage if he was still on the scene? After Rumble/Cormier, I think JJ would destroy AJ.

UFC Dublin - obviously, I'm there to watch the local talent but nothing to get excited about just yet. Rothwell vs. Miocic will make or break this card. Duffy will get a bigger name if he wins (I think Poirier will just mentally break in the week leading up to the fights).

Vitor/Hendo - just not interested in this legends match. Cummins/Glover might be one to watch.

193 - watch two dominant champs wreck their opponents.

Not an incredible line up until December when there's a shitload of fights to get excited about. Most anticipated for me is Maia v Nelson, big statement if Gunnar can win that one. Maia will definitely be the best fighter he's ever face. Weidman/Rockhold runs a close second.

Weidman/Rockhold runs a close second.

I am intrigued to see what Vitor and Hendo look like this far out without using performance enhancers.

Weidman Rockhold will be a good watch as they're both in their prime which makes a change from; 'UFC legend *insert past it age* takes on contender *fighter actually in their prime*)

Other than that... yeh. Fairly shit until we get Condit vs Lawler after christmas which will likely be FOTY unless Condit does what he did in the Diaz fight.
