The punch behind the ear from Rousey, right on the knockout spot. Really nice. Women's MMA needs some more stars though.

Didn't really enjoy last night's card. The Nog's need to go. To have these vets still hanging round in LHW and HW divisons is sort of embarrassing.

Struve looked like he could have pulled of a much more decisive win but, I dunno, he rattled Nog a few times but it was as if he took Nog's ability to punch him for granted - kicks seems to work really well for him.

Was absolutely loving the body kicks Rua pulled out on the other Nog. They were so sweet.

We need Jon Jones back.

Anyway, following that, just watching Condit and Diaz again. How anyone think this went Diaz's way is unbelievable.

Big Nog has retired by all accounts. Dana asked him to quit fighting last night and offered him a job with the UFC like Liddell and Hughes have and he took it. He should have retired after the Dave Herman fight really as that was such a great moment. One of the all time greats though, sad to see him go.

Ronda is just so much better than anyone in her weight class its insane. Cyborg fight needs to happen really. Rousey vs Tate again will do good business but will go how everyone expects. I do think Ronda would tool Cyborg nowadays tbh, a few years back it was 50/50 for me but Ronda has a nasty stand up game now. Think Cyborg missed her chance but she would ask some questions no one else in WMMA could of Rousey.

Good. Both of them need to retire really. They look and move like Couture and he's 52!

Nice to see shogun win but he's another one who needs to quit. Rampage is going to smash him in the rematch and even then, shogun shouldn't be fighting at 205 anyway. The days of guys not cutting weight are long gone unfortunately.

Ronda? there's not much to say she's a beast. I think Cyborg would beat her but she's a steroided out half man so it wouldn't even count in my mind. Plus she's a whole weight division heavier.

Fully agree about a Cyborg bout. Ronda seems likely to take it, but it's the only unanswered question in the sport. Rousey is fantastic, and good cross-media shot in the arm for the company. She's bigger than the company right now, and it's always good to have stars that could, in theory, upset the monopoly apple cart in the future. She won't, because she'd likely retire to make films before ditching the UFC, but it's nice to give Dana et al a small reason to feel less significant.

I didn't have Shogun beating Lil Nog, but it wasn't a great fight for me. I can see why the UFC are reluctant to let go of some name-value, drawing stars when the younger replacements aren't that yet, but it's their time to hang it up.

Palelei/Bigfoot was exactly as dire as you could expect. It's shocking to think how Silva dominated Fedor when he's capable of being so very poor. Goes to show how HW is mostly garbage when he was fighting for the title about 2 years ago - and it certainly hasn't gotten better or deeper since then.

Seems a bit soon after the last fight to be having a rematch, especially since there are tons more interesting new fights for Vitor at MW (Machida, Jacare, Mousasi, Romero, Kennedy).

I wonder if they're just prepping to put them both on the legends/'Feature Fight' circuit?

I reckon so, Hendo is surely on already on the oldies circuit after that man handling by DC. Vitor without TRT is still quite good though, I mean he definitely had Weidman hurt. Bisping called out both of them recently, but TRT or no TRT Vitor still wrecks The Count. I felt bad for Bisping a bit after watching Weidman genuinely laugh at the prospect of jim ever competing for a belt; he said he could beat him blindfolded in his sleep.

OSP looked great for a round, but then Teixeira took over and showed his experience.

Didn't expect GLover to get bullied on the feet, but he did at first. OSP has come a long way and some time away from the Blackzilians camp would probably do wonders for him.

I just read Tim Kennedy who isn't even top 10 at middleweight said he made more in sponsorship in one fight against Luke Rockhold (strikeforce) than the entire OSP vs Glover card. :o That's disgusting. Glover isn't that far removed from fighting for the title either.

Tim Kennedy is top 10, and rightfully so. Went the distance with Jacare, beat Bisping, and had Romero beat before the shenanigans.

I don't like Kennedy at all, but this should be a crushing indictment for the UFC. It's apparently not though, for some reason.

They've booked Werdum/Velasquez 2 for December. That's about the least interesting thing they could've done with Werdum at this point. Would've ideally wanted to see Cain take a fight or two to build back up, since he was hardly competitive in the last one.

UFC: Title Fucking Rematches.

Anderson Silva went for an ill advised "the reason I failed a drug test for a bunch of different PEDS is because I took a random Thai sex enhanchment pill" defense in his NSAC hearing. It did't work. He got the max suspension and fine, 1 year, 200k win bonus and 30% of his 600k fight purse. He will be back Feb time.

Weidman is again defending his belt (against Rockhold) in a co-main, rather than a main event on the Aldo/Mac card.

UFC have zero confidence in him as a draw, this much is obvious, but surely they'd rather have a title fight headlining one of the less busy cards? They do a lot right, and I'm sure they have many metrics to take advantage of, but sometimes their decisions seem dumb.

As boring as his fighting style became you can't not like GSP as a person.

Anderson Silva... I don't even know what he was thinking. Apparently loads of sex themed ringtones were going off during the meeting too.

If he'd said it was to do with his broken leg then you can understand but all this rubbish reinforces that he's probably been on something for a long time. Sad as he was one on my favourite fighters. :/

Some more stupid as fuck matchmaking by the UFC.

Cain vs Werdum II - Cain did not deserve a rematch. He's been out far far too long. If only there was an old vet on a 5 fight win streak about.

Mir vs Arlovski - Oh there he is, but lets make him fight another vet who's been counted out and made an incredible career comeback.

Miocic vs Rothwell - and if rothwell wins there goes another contender potentially gifting a guy a title fight who's been smashed by everyone in the division.

wtf.

I think everyone would agree its way too early for Holm. She is a great boxer and kickboxer but she has a very basic ground game. She is gonna get slammed on her head then arm barred. Ronda won't trade too much with her even if Holm lacks power.

UFC 191 looks like a good card - Ross Pearson showing up on the undercard;

Heavyweight dvision is a little messy.

Werdum offered the fight to Cain after, didn't he? To be honest, Cain's fault or not, I'd love to see him at 100% against Werdum. Still give Werdum the edge, mind.

Looks good.

I'm thinking Rumble will get rocked by Jimi then add him to the highlight reel.

Mir vs Arlovski - Mir should take this which is why I'm going with Arlovski as Mir tends to lose motivation when he's the favourite.

Mighty Mouse vs Dodson - Mighty Mouse by decision. More internet backlash about the flyweight division.

listening to Ronda Rousey on Joe Rogan - she's coming across really well so far and is showing a side of her that you never hear in pre or post fight press

whats has Jimi M done to deserve a fight with Rumble, he's massively outmatched in that.

arlovski v mir is a hard one to call as both are capable of being amazing or stinking the joint out, and you never really know which version you're getting until the bell
