Best card I have ever seen, each fight just got progressively better and both the co and main cards were incredible! I really like Conor but I must say I was rooting for Chad, such a class act post fight too.

Cant even imagine being there.

And nice to see some true (not macho) emotion at the end of it all too. Yeah, we all know that it's just a big show (the build-up) but nice to be reminded of it too. As superhuman as McGregor wants to come off he was clearly relieved beyond compare. No surprise there with a whole country resting on his shoulders but nice to see none the less.

Only been following UFC for a handful of years but for me also this is the best event I have seen.

ive been watching since 2006 and its up there for me too. considering the final 6 fights were all absolute wars with amazing finishes, i dont remember such a run of brilliant fights in one night ever. starting with matt brown heading the prelims and just each fight took it up a notch.

browns vicious elbows over a game tim means,

almeidas coming out party blasting pickett from being in trouble

gunners improved striking taking out a 20lb heavier thatch

stevens ridiculous power taking down a tough bermudez

robbie coming back from the brink to shatter rorys nose before posing for selfies in the hospital

conor and chads barnstormer to finish, and great to see them show respect at the end (before conor went back into promo mode in the presser, which chad will know).

A great card there. As much as I don't really care for the Reebok uniforms, the new graphics bring the presentation much more up to date. I didn't hear 'Face the Pain' either, which made the event much less embarrassing than usual.

Business-wise, it couldn't have worked out much better - they got the best financial result without questions being answered. In fact, I wound up with more questions than answers.

Rory has lost his killer instinct a bit, and I'm worried that he'll never be as amazing as he was. There's no justice in the world if the prodigy of ~3 years ago never wears the crown. Robbie looks very beatable, and I had Rory winning up until the finish.

For the main event, I think everyone delivered as much as can be expected. We still get to say things like: "How would Mendes do with a full camp?" and "Can anyone KO McGregor?". McGregor's weaknesses on the ground will make people tune in to see who can exploit them. If anyone can. It's all intriguing stuff. I didn't finish the event thinking that Conor was the best 145er in the world, but he's the biggest source of interest.

It's still a joke that Dana basically created the Conorweight title, but if it spurs Aldo into actually caring enough to fight to his full ability, then everyone wins.

They were talking about the series not even culminating in Faber and McGregor fighting each other. That'd be a real shame, as Faber is a draw, credible, and winnable for Conor.

Edgar deserves the fight most, but it's already clear that such things aren't important anymore.

i think i could cope with watching conor on TUF, although he is going to wind up team alpha male something rotten. which is a shame, one of my favourite bits of saturday was him and mendes holding each others arms aloft.

im guessing conor aldo in either late december or jan, then if he somehow wins theyve promised him a defence in ireland (frankie, unless he loses inbetween now and then).

I like face the pain, for shame. They did keep it, just a remixed version which I guess is a good middle ground. It's only after watching the new presentation that you realise how spartan and old-fashioned the old stuff was.

As for Rory, personally I don't think he's ever really had a killer instinct. He's always looked happiest with a decision win rather than really going for it... Like he prefers dismantling someone rather than going for the jugular. The only time I've really thought he meant it was the Saffiedine fight.

Also his new haircut and nickname are rubbish.

i liked the timer and round graphics, but their new design shorts have a large black sash on the white version, meaning if the fighter in white is facing a certain way it looks like they could also be wearing black, which defeats the object somewhat of identifying them by short colour.

Don't think you're close enough, kingpin ;)

Can see Dana White prancing round even. My mate was tenth row and he said you could hear Rory yelp when Lawler landed that bomb. I'm dubious as it must be mega loud unless they pipe up the ring audio?

I'll never forget the noise Gonzaga's KO kick on Cro Cop's head made in Manchester. It was horrific. Clear as day and we were sat on the first raised tier, quite a way from the cage.

Man, I heard the Gonzaga KO from London and I didn't even have the tv turned on ha

In all seriousness though, I'm pleased to hear you can hear stuff. I've only been to smaller events and you hear every kick or punch as the crowd size is small.

if that annoys you shmojo get a load of this

http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/7/12/8941983/conor-mcgregor-urijah-faber-slated-to-coach-next-season-of-the

annoyingly, it'll probably be a must watch, and ive not watched anything since the rousey season opener.

What a cock up. Having a draw like Conor means every time he shows it becomes something special. Over saturating the market with his mug is going to kill his appeal.

It's starting to irritate me how much the UFC has been fucking up over the last few years. They get so close to mass appeal then do stupid bs like the reebok deal or throw their own fighters under the bus. Ugh...

There's been like 20 documentaries on him already. A season of TUF won't make a blind bit of difference. Should be pretty entertaining too, Faber is funny and Conor's gonna be Conor. Hopefully he'll have John Kavanagh there the whole time to take care of the coaching bit so Conor can concentrate on needling Team Alpha Male full time. It'll be the first season of TUF i'll have watched in a couple of years anyway.

Fedor is coming back for one last fight.

After all this time he has to be considered the greatest fighter of all time, right?

Clearly never did roids

could have been a middle weight but fought up to super heavy

always exciting

went 31-0 -2 without being beat.

Regardless of the shite dana talks Fedor has to be the best.

I wish he wouldn't.

Fedor's my favourite of all time, but he did a lot of damage to his legacy with the Strikeforce run. After that, fighting inferior opposition did nothing to build him back up.

Basically, he can either face a nobody and prove nothing, or take it seriously and go for a big name, but probably not come out of it too well. Lose-lose for everyone but Vadim Finkelstein's bank account.

Wouldn't be surprised if Scott Coker had helped talk him into it though, if it's legit.

Kingpin what was it like being there for Connor's entrance? I'm still coming to terms with how awesome it was.

The main wtf moment was Sinead O'Connor rising up on that platform. Then the place went nuts as he walked out. The funnier bit was people trying to drown out Aaron Lewis as Chad walked out.
