I thought Conor looked fucked and completely drained of energy at the weight in. I'm a UFC novice though so I'm not sure if that's normal. Chad looked far more energetic to me. Are they weighted again before the fight, or are they free to put weight on again?

Conor is taking a huge weight cut, he should be fighting at 155 which takes the piss when he's talking trash about Mendes size, when he's in fact not hugely tall himself and that he shouldn't be at that weight class much longer if he values his health.

They are not weighed before the fight, so they get hydrated and put the weight on again.

Dave said he couldn't make it, that's all

Dana is a fucking goof, the way he's thrown Jose under the bus recently is disgusting. Plus his huge boner for Conor hopes that Mendes smashes him.

completely normal, conor cuts like 20 plus pounds of water. once you make weight 24 hours before, thats it - go back up as high as you like. some fighters even take blood out, its a very dodgy area sometimes.

Okay, just watched the weigh-in.

For someone who has not been watching the UFC for like about ten years or something all of the stuff I had read about Conor made me think he was a right prick, and maybe I still think that. But the overgrown midget line made me laugh. Because it's so stupid. It's like something Father Dougal would say. And I can't work out if he said it with a layer of irony, or if he's actually just as stupid as Father Dougal. But either way it's funny because it's such a non-sequitur.

He looked emaciated though.

Conor always looks shredded at weigh in - he'll be a stone or more heavier when the bell rings and look nothing like that at all

I really hope he wins, the UFC needs a charismatic ticket seller like him, with their luck though at the moment Mendez will grind out a 5 round decision on the mat and they'll be stuck with Aldo v Mendez III which will struggle to do 250,000 ppv's

im a huge fan of conor. hes not a prick, although he certainly plays it up for the cameras. hes a superb technician, student of the game, mentally as strong as iron with a brilliant way of approaching his career. he visualises success, goal sets, and wills things into existance with sheer force of mind. he talks a lot of sense behind the bravado, he instantly spots any mental weaknesses in opponents and his main approach to his fighting is superb (train himself incredibly hard then just put his body into the fight situation and trust it to act out his trained instinct). its a hell of a test for him against mendez, but hes got a real chance.

picks

conor TKO
lawler decision
stephens TKO
nelson by hump
picket TKO
means TKO
Swick decision
Pendred decision

Okay, just got up to speed via Youtube.

Holy shit, McGregor is exquisite. He reminds me of Hamed in his prime. The angles that he attacks from; the way he reads the angles; the speed; the power; the improvisation. Superb. Mendes just looks slow and rehearsed and laboured and signposted. Until he gets on the ground when he becomes pretty fast. But seriously, surely McGregor will brutalise him, no? Shit, I really want to watch the fight now, but have no idea how to do so in Japan.

I loved Aldo's response at the Siver fight.

I still think Conor is a bit graceless in victory thought. Mendes and Aldo both come across as pretty decent chaps.

I like Aldo and think he delt with alot of McGregors antics well. I can think of a number of fighters who would have caused a riot when Connor stole the belt at the Irish presser but he laughed it off. Mendes seems a dickhead tbh, if you dislike trophy hunting shit you won't have much love for him either, he has proudly shown of his " room of death" as Dan Hardy called it in the embedded vids of things he has shot and stuffed.

I am starting to find Connor grating tbh but want him to win. Really hope Lawler wins too.

i agree with just about all of that. apart from maybe that i think jose needs to stop training so dangerously, thats his main flaw, apart from that i do like him. i despise mendez's hunting, absolutely abhorent, as dan rightly says.

theyve shown him before in the aldo fight countdowns, not impressed. im doing fantastically well with my picks. conors arrival too...absolutely ridiculous. i think he may be taking his eye off the ball a bit. police escort, full suit, girlfriend dressed as if shes off to the oscars. the rest of them turn up with an ipod and a backpack.

ive been doing it since i got BT sport last year, way better isnt it. no more spoilers in comments, or looking at your VLC player bar and knowing the main event wont last 5 rounds because theres only 10 minutes left. always have a nice drink (some whiskey, appropriately for tonights card) and watch the sun come up with the fights then snooze til midday. if youre really patient you can watch the press conference live 30 mins after.

well

good bye to mcdonalds nose. 2 losses to the champ, he needs to do something drastic. robbie looks very beatable, he takes too much damage for the sake of macho pride.

great post fight speech

and now the big one
