It's fun to speculate though. I mean, none of us know what clean Belfort looks like, so we've got nothing to base things off — and he's been a monster for years.

Weidman's a big guy, but few have the killer instinct of Vitor. Can't wait for it. Weidman's certainly never faced anyone like him before.

I always know when its a huge main event as I watch all these videos before hand

I'm stoked for Jones v Cormier and just don't know what to expect, I give Jones the very slight edge has feel he has more tools at his disposal, but even though Cormier has less tools, those he has are brutal

I think jones will knock him out in 2 rounds, he's on a whole other level. DC is good but I dont think he can take jones down as well as he thinks he can. I know he's an olympian, but Jones can keep him at range with strikes and sprawls. Im going Jones to win quite easily.

Gona watch it live on BT for once too, suffer the adverts just to see this one live.

It's too tough to guess - neither has fought anyone like the other. Maybe Cormier's wrestling is on a much higher level than Jones, as his creds suggest, but maybe not.

Total fence-sitter here. When neither man has been heavily tested (Gus fight aside), we've got to expect the unexpected. One may absolutely steamroll the other, but I wouldn't bet my house on which one!

Can't wait.

Like you're all saying, I can't bloody wait for the main event. Similarly, heart says Cormier, head says Jones.

Just looking at Cormier's record, who do you think is his most notable opponent or biggest win so far? Obviously he destroyed Hendo but everyone saw that coming, Cummins was a late notice replacement, Mir is well past his prime, so it's either Roy Nelson or Josh Barnett right? I wonder if Cain wasn't his friend, would he have been heavyweight champ by now? Seems very possible to me.

Although I hear what schmojo is saying about Jones not being truly tested apart from Gus - you'd have to say he has the more impressive CV with Gus, Vitor, Machida, Glover etc. (but remembering that two of those guys have now dropped to a lower weight class) but yeah, no-one like DC.

Steven Seagal has been showing Cormier some moves though, so you never know  http://www.mmamania.com/2015/1/1/7477669/ufc-182-daniel-cormier-train-steven-seagal-learn-secret-moves-jon-jones-mma

I've been watching those embedded videos and I'm ready to make a call

Jones is just huge compared to the squatter figure of Cormier - he's going to shred him at distance with punches and kicks and DC won't get near him to land a takedown. Jones has to keep it at distance and has all the physical attributes to do so

You're probably right but I'm also considering if Jones will be cautious with the kicks for fear of takedowns?

Have we ever seen Jones fighting off his back? That would be very interesting to see, I have no doubt that he would have an excellent guard game though I suspect the most likely outcome would be Jones pushing off his opponent's hips and getting back to his feet. I watched Jones vs. Vitor the other night, poor Belfort pulled guard and got smashed to bits (apart from the close armbar attempt).

I don't think anyone can say Jones hasn't already fought and beat the best in his weight class. There was the old school like Rampage and Shogun, veterans like Rashad, Belfort and Machida, and the new contenders like Gus and (at the time) Glover. The only times I can remember him being even mildly in trouble were the Gus fight, and the first rounds of the Belfort and Machida fights. He's an arse but you can't argue with that record.

Not long now!

Cormier now has the added power of secret, can't be filmed, Steven Segal killer moves (and don't forget Segal could wake up from a coma several years long and take people out on a hospital bed)

Just look at the size of Segal next to DC !

Guys! Absolutely stoked - the sourness between these two means nothing with regards to anticipation. Two amazing fighters, and that's all it comes down to.

Was thinking I can't call it at all, but I see Jones utilising those leg kicks and really breaking down Cormier'd mobility. Jones is such an innovative striker, but Cormier, no question, has the potential to beat him. Whatever happens though, I'd be so gutted if Gus didn't get another crack after this.

Also very interested to see Cerrone's fight, wasn't aware he was on the card 'til I watched the embedded.

you can see from the post card press conference that DC was destroyed by that, Jones took him on at his own game (a close up dog fight) and won convincingly, even taking him down several times.

a good effort from Cormier but he was beaten by somebody destined to be one of the all time greats. I don't even feel the need to see a rematch until Cormier has gone away and added something to his game, it was that convincing for me.

I wasn't surprised DC lost but surprised at the manner of it.

Loved Cerrone in the first on the ground and then getting mad at the end - he was calling to fight again in a couple of weeks as was frustrated by Jury running away from him

Exciting to watch live, closer than the scorecards suggest i feel.

I was watching it live, and I'm going to watch it again however, besides from the drama things went as expected. It was lacklustre and didn't really bring it. I don't think the scorecards were close at all.

Next Diaz Vs Silva.

Hmmm I wonder who's going to win that?.

Its well worth watching the post fight press conference, reckon if Dana White offered DC a rematch there and then he woukdnt take it, Jones broke him mentally by taking away everything he thought he was better at.

Yeah its the fight game, but it was shit that Jones rubbed it into Cormier at the press conference.

I totally disagree, DC had been mouthing off for months and was being put firmly in his place.

DC is a very likable chap but his mouth wrote some cheques for him that he couldnt cash in the end, so he has to expect some shit back.

There is some old Roman saying about your enemy not being vanquished unless he considers himself so - Jones was quite within his rights to politely point out in the press conference how he felt and what had happened.

I cant stand all thst fake modesty stuff - bad blood is good !
