Think a lot of people are sleeping on Werdums stand up. He's really brought it all together in the last couple of years, I love both guys for different reasons. Werdums amazing ground game he made big nog look like a white belt, Hunts just an absolute fella an is a true Rocky story. How do people see Lamas vs Bermudez going?

No one is sleeping on Werdum's stand up, his fight with Travis Browne was brutal.

It is the heavyweight division, so all it take is one punch.

Werdum's been finished by a thunderous uppercut before, and they don't come much more thunderous than the one that dropped Big Country.

Hunt also copes with rangey fighters well, but if Werdum can get it down, it's his fight. Not to sleep on Werdum's standup at all, but I think Hunt can take any shot that Werdum can throw. Werdum can outwork him, and I'd pick him for the decision, but putting up with multiple rounds of Hunt bombs is a risk for any fighter.

We know that the winner will likely be the #3 HW in the world, but it's an exciting thing to be seeing in an otherwise staid division. WAR HUNTO.

That's cool man, congrats. Love the delayed entrance, keep them waiting! When's your next fight? Also I love the matchup card from their website, your opponent has gone for the 'blood splattered savage' look.

Thanks man! Yeah he went for the old mma foiiiighter tough guy angle. He was pretty cocky in the build up but I went for the old fedor/Gunnar Nelson can't be arsed angle. Next local card is April so gonna see how I feel by the end of next month. It's a tough thing to train for around work and family.

Want Hunto to win so bad but it's Werdum by sub.

Hunt will get tired quick. He deserves all sorts of crazy bonuses and payouts. His knockouts have kept the ufc going this year - and the UFC didn't even want to give him a fight when they tookover his Pride contract. :o

I'll take short main cards every time if they're like that! Combined with the prelims that was the best PPV I've seen in a long time.

I was just settling down to a nice pork stir fry when the exploding ear thing happened. Nice.

I wonder if that guy who did the most deliberate headbutt possible will get a phone call any time soon from the UFC.

Oh man that was excellent from start to finish. Werdum won as expected but Hunt put on an excellent show, I would have loved to see him win but I think Werdum stands more of a chance against Cain (if he ever comes back).

Oh and Dodger Montano looks like a KOF character. More of him please.

I'm sure much of last night's Bellator was a car crash but I still want to watch it because of Brooks/Chandler 2. Weirdly I can't find any torrents of it but coincidentally it's on 5* tonight (9pm if anyone is interested).

Chandler vs Brooke's was awesome! Legit stoppage he was completely out on his feet!

Yeah agreed, it was great. Very rarely see a KO like that, he had no idea where he was. Always felt Brooks got a bit of a raw deal, as if Chandler was champion elect after Alvarez and it seemed Brooks upset the script when he won the first fight. So glad he got the win again.

Schilling vs Manhoef was unexpectedly entertaining too, I had this down as a squash for Manhoef but turned out anything but.

I wish I could say the same for Ortiz vs Bonnar. Fucking embarrassing to call this MMA. 'Turd burgers' indeed. I was just disappointed the man in the mask from the promo a while back didn't make a run in. Should have had JR on commentary too.

UFC:

God bless Mark Hunt. Who would've thought he'd ever win a round with top control? Werdum was certainly on the back foot, but Hunt needs to stop relying on his chin and blocking things with his face. It was a perfect knee though - Hunt ducked into it as a shorter opponent for a tall man. It would probably have knocked a rhino out.

One thing that I didn't like, was how easily Werdum went down all the time. Ever since Fedor, I can never assume he's been legitimately knocked down since he flops to the ground trying to catch people in his guard at the drop of a hat. Happened loads in the awful Overeem fight too. Still, he's a HW with a tricky gameplan, unlike the many who have none at all. He's now broken my heart twice though.

Gastelum looked fantastic. His transitions were so fast, and you could see the panicked look on Ellenberger's face when he realised that the choke was in. God knows what happens to Jake here.

Bellator:

Chandler looked worse than usual in that fight, but I'd still like to see him in the UFC. Weird finish, and not as definitive as the other standing TKO I saw that night, but Chandler was done. Brooks needs to be in the UFC sooner than later, as his speed is an asset that will only depreciate.

Tito/Bonnar was awful.

Manhoef was handling Schilling very well until the knockout. It was his first offense of any significance, and was all Melvin's fight until the KO. Similar to Melvin/Lawler - clearly his chin is not so great these days. It was also a little embarrassing that, even as an MMA veteran, Manhoef didn't have any ground skills to dismantle Schilling, the MMA newbie.

I think Brooks just has Chandlers number. I thought Chandler was the best fighter outside the UFC, interesting to see what they do with him now. Manhoef needs to stop fighting I remember seeing him fight on cage rage ffs. Those dudes from mikes gym in Holland all have whacky chins.

Speaking of Bellator, looks like they are moving to a monthly event model again (no doubt Coker's decision), good job too as the weekly events were paper thin at the best of times. I know they have a lot of chumps on their books but quite looking forward to 132 in Feb especially, Daley vs Lima and McGeary vs Newton for the belts.

Don't like Werdum either way. The constant trolling is annoying and he even trolled hunt at the weigh ins - nice way to disrespect the guy who just saved the entire card.

Nick Diaz was on the radio last night saying george was on steroids (I think he was tbh) and that he was scared to fight Anderson even though the fans wanted to see it - ergo him taking the fight.

I was looking at pics of george after the steroid comment and he definitely doesn't look right. He didn't even get fat after that massive layoff. Like at all.

Trolled hunt? DIdnt you watch the embedded's? Werdum has absolute respect for Hunt.

I did and yes at the weigh ins he wore a oxygen mask and hunt threw it away. Don't believe the UFC spin on Werdum he's proven to be a massive tit over and over. This time they tried to make him look somewhat none twatish as they needed to curry favour with the mexican crowd.
