If DC can get him down it could be a brutal war, I still cant believe Jones walks around with those chicken legs. Maybe if he put any muscle there he'd have to move up. Jones cheating needs to be stamped on though, they need a proper ref in there and they need to enforce shit properly. Herb or John, and they need to be on the ball with Jones. I want points off for pokes. He's going to be side kicking DC's knee constantly too. I just pray for the day he loses then the UFC can throw him under a bus.

the whole fight hinges on whether Jones has any takedown defence, the longer he can keep it standing Cormier just gets lit up with punches, elbows and kicks. As soon as it goes down though don't see Jones getting back up, doesn't mean he'll get finished but can see Cormier laying on him and the fight being dull, unless the ref aggressively stands them back up.

If DC can get past the outstretched arm and oblique kicks for long enough to land an overhand right or take him down, there may be some fun to be had. I suspect he'll end up walking into elbows all night a la Rashad. Has anyone tried targeting Jones' legs yet? Can't remember if Gus threw many leg kicks.

I think DC has to go for the takedown straight off. The longer he's on his feet, the more that Jones will punish his dodgy knee. The more punishment to the knee, DC's takedowns will suffer. Jones is going to blast that knee in the same way that he messed up Glover's right shoulder - disable the main threat.

I'm hoping for Cormier but I can see a Jones game of jab/jab/poke/knee kick. He won't throw a kick above knee level and DC can expect to eat a few knees to the face shooting for a takedown, as well as some brutal elbows to the temple if he has Jones against the cage. Expecting a decision win for Jones after a brutal fight.

In my dreams, DC rushes in, drops his level for a surprise ankle pick, back to his feet for the single leg, dodges an elbow and takes Jones down for some GNP. Even if that happens, if Jones can retain his guard at all he will get his feet on DC's hips, push him away to create some space and get back to his feet for some more jabby pokey.

Needless to say, I can't wait. War Cormier!

Hes got incredible TD defence, which worries me. But I think he underestimates olympic wrestling too.

Just looking at the fight with Chael, the first thing that Jones did was take Sonnen down and did so multiple times throughout the fight (but yes, Chael is a very undersized LHW). I don't think Chael had even a single attempt. Bader also had his takedowns stuffed easily.

I think we assume that DC is impossible to take down (check out this awesome Cael Sanderson* ankle pick against DC at 7.30) but Jones could come out and try to put him on his back like the Chael fight - stranger things have happened.

)

*I think it's safe to say that Sanderson is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time though.

The chin on that guy. Holy shit. There's no way steroids weren't involved there.

What would have have fought at had he been a fighter? DC looks tiny compared to him but the weight limit is 187lbs?

I think he was wrestling at 184lbs there, but has also wrestled at 197lbs. So, he would be middleweight or light heavyweight. Wrestlers though - he could probably cut to welter if he really wanted to, like Rumble.

Steroids - who knows? Apparently it is quite common in the wrestling scene but I googled a bit and didn't find much in the way of allegations. He's also an Olympic gold medallist and if Rousey is to be believed, the Olympic testing was quite full on (but I'm not sure about this).

A former UFC fighter allegedly assaulted his wife twice in four days and had his pit bull maul her.

“It’s the worst case of domestic abuse I’ve ever seen,” police officer Richard Harvey said. Harvey said the victim was “chewed up” by Grispi’s pit bull, which had been trained to attack her. She is in the hospital with serious injuries, he said.

When Middleboro Detective Simonne M. Ryder searched the house Monday, she uncovered a pot farm, weapons and ammunition, police said. He said Grispi 3-year-old was sitting next to a box of unsecured guns and ammunition when police arrived.

Grispi is charged with two counts of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of violating a restraining order, animal cruelty, malicious damage to a motor vehicle, drug possession to cultivate marijuana and improper storage of a large capacity firearm and rifle or shotgun near a child.

That is horrible. What the fuck leads someone to that?

178 is stacked, but I'm really, really looking forward to Cruz's return, all things considered he's the best fighter "active" today, and if he stays injury free a potential usurper of GSP's honorary greatest fighter of all time title.

Also interested in Cat's return.

Oof, i dunno about that man, considering what he achieved while training in his garage basically, it shows what talent he has, but he's not been active enough/at all for me to be in the "best ever" talk, maybe one day but not just now.

That guy Pat Cummings got under DCs skin and look what happened to him. But Jones is ta better fighter than Pat but emotional fighting doesnt always go bad and a straigh punch-up favours Cormier i reckon as Jones biggest weapon is his reach/eye poking ;)

Ah ok, I wonder what the perception is from a PR point of view of this incident and others like it by the UFC? Good or bad? Sure it hypes the fight but there also the "they're all thugs" type shit spewed forth by various wankers since whenever.
