Crackdown mixed with The Force Unleashed. Looks fun though, and Sucker Punch usually make decent stuff.

They sure do, Rocket was just ace :P Without a doubt one of the most original and fun platformer of its generation.

Jesus christ that looks terrible. I'm not kidding.

That's a bit strong, isn't it? I know that internet opinions have a tendency to bifurcate into "It's amazing!" or "It's shit!", but still...

Anyway, here's some footage which looks better, namely because it shows off a lot more of the climbing and acrobatic aspects which is at least what I'm interested in.

OH YES LOL THE PS3 IS RUBBISH

No. The game looks dreary and uh, ropey. Perhaps I'm being miserable but I didn't see anything nice at all in there, it just looked so dreary. So yeah it LOOKS terrible. It might play amazing.

Btw. I make PSN games.

Yeah a game set after an explosion rips apart most of the city shouldn't be dreary, grey or depressing, should it?

WHERE ARE THE PRIMARY COLOURS?!

You're right, they so should have gone down the mirrors edge route.

As for linking to threespeech, they posted a video of a game i'm interested in not some hyped up story they usually post about.

I think the dark setting looks alright- its like that mucky foot games er Urban Chaos or something- it looks like a sort of mix of Crackdown and Star Wars Force Unleashed- unfortunately it looks like its leaning towards the latter a lot- most of that G4 vid was zapping shit with your hand which looks really really boring. i'll check out that other vid thats more platformy- the powers so far look kinda gimmicky and dull.

Not hugely impressed by that vid but it has potential.

Sucker Punch made the Sly Cooper games, which were chuffing excellent. This looks a bit drab though. Doesn't really do anything for me. Actually, it looks like that Prototype game. Only with just one power, instead of many. Hmm.

GameTrailers have some new footage up (SD, HD).

The combat doesn't look very exciting, but I'm impressed with the climbing aspect; apparently they have two team members dedicated to making sure everything that looks climbable is. It's just a shame that the fighting doesn't look much fun and apparently the sun's fuse has blown.

What's that similar looking game where you play a guy wearing a hoodie? Yeah, that looks loads more fun.

I bet this will last longer though and have a better, more gradual, skill curve. It looks a slow burner.

Prototype iirc, made by the same devs as Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (aka the unofficial Crackdown prequel). Prototype looks way over the top, and therefore more fun. But it would be nice if both games turned out great, Crackdown was brilliant and I would love some more quality superpowered sandbox games.

My first impression when I played the video was 'my, that's brown'. The only positive I can think of is that the blue electricity stands out. As does the fire creature thing. But it's not a place I want to spend any time in. The jump animation is rubbish as well. There's little connection to the surroundings, it's like he's hovering. And then he does hover.

Some if it reminded me of the climatic battle in X-Men 3, but worse.

Prototype looks better (and it's on a console I actually own) but I can't believe that Infamous isn't going to be great. Sucker Punch haven't made a bad game yet. I finished Sly 3 a few months ago and it left me thinking that if a new Sly (and a new Klonoa, which I played through at the same time) came out on the PS3 I'd buy one immediately. If this turns out to be better than Prototype Sony might just get another sale.

"Karma" moments - I'm not sure I like the idea of these...

As you’ve no doubt gathered, Sony have provided us with a wealth of fresh information on the upcoming InFamous title.

Kicking things off is a look at the ‘Karma System’…

Cole will consciously shift into either a Good or Evil Karmic State depending on his actions. This change is more than just cosmetic, and is something that impacts every aspect of the game including the story, Cole’s appearance, the city and the way in which pedestrians react to his presence. Another important change brought about by the level of Karma is the power that Cole will have at his disposal.

Cole’s ‘Karmic State’ can be altered through pivotal events (’Karma Moments’) that are encountered during missions, as well as his direct interaction with the innocent people still trapped in the unruly Empire City.

Experience (XP) is earned through completing various activities and can be spent on upgrades to his electrical power - XP will only unlock abilities that match his current Karmic State. Good Karma manifests merciful electron-based powers, while Evil Karma will adversely alter Cole’s appearance and imbue him with uncompromisingly deadly positron-based electricity. In short, your actions determine your abilities. This will surely have a knock-on effect of changing the way Cole is played, and the style of power circulating through his body could undoubtedly influence other acts of Karma.

The rigid structure of Karma States will hopefully lead to a closer focus on personal choices and the actual gameplay elements associated with them.

Good Karmic States: Guardian; Champion; and Hero

Evil Karmic States: Thug; Outlaw; and Infamous
