But I, being poor, have only my DLC;

Chase

How do you know he was talking about you?

Yeah, whilst I was sigging it I realised he didn't mention my name, I so added it in to make it more clear.

Also, I altered his paragraph structure to make it flow better (a little thing called cadence), and corrected his grammar mistakes.

How the fuck do I get hounded if I post anything at all but this vile trolling cunt continues to be let loose to spout shit on this forum?

When are the mods going to wake up and kick this little wankface to the kerb and ban his ass.

All he has done with GTA IV is troll, troll, troll and yet he persists and is still here. Fucking hell.

Phelan is pure tabloid.

I've decided not to report him because it just looks so great as a sig quote. The juxtaposition between my actual post, and his description of my post, results in some delightful irony - further enhanced by the delicious hypocrisy of his own sentiment.

Honestly, I should be paying him for this sort of stuff.

Chase, I am extremely rich.

Infact I like huge segments of the game to be kept back as DLC as it enables me to diminish my disposable income.

I'd be happy just to have a loading screen and the credits.

This would also have the added boon of perhaps killing your interest in gaming and hence reducing the amount of shite that you post on here.

...and Phelan you still rock.

I'm not going to waste my time arguing with someone who thinks that more mundane vehicles, weapons and activities in a videogame is more desirable because its closer to reality, as opposed to ones which are more exciting and put a giant fucking grin on your face.

Wake up. The Fun vs Reality debate already happened, and Reality got its ass kicked.

it's nothing to do with reality.

if you're thinking of vehicles they've already done, planes just wouldn't be fun cause there's fuck all to do with them - the helicopters are shit enough already. And even though I'm not concerned with reality, i'm sure the developers are which is why we're not going to get any more jetpacks, or, I don't know, Giant amphibious panthers.

Weapons, I can't think of anything that's missing that is any fun. possibly the flamethrower, those are always a bit of fun that get you killed immediately. or the dildos, oh yeah they were a great idea.

This debate isn't fun vs. reality, it's gta4 versus a bunch of retarded shit that mongfaces think would be fun, but most likely wouldn't.

I would personally like to see some more stores open, more clothing, more weapons (perhaps some weapon customisation options) chiefly a SILENCER which would be FUCKING AWESOME

More parking space

But really, more missions. And maybe they'd get rid of Alderney and put something good there.

The poor quality of the over-priced Halo 3 DLC has prompted me never to sample this form of purchasing again. For those prices, they should have been fully realised 1-4 player campaign levels, not shitty-little multi-player maps (all of which are inferior to the ones that came with the retail game).

With Halo 3 though you could always have waited and got them for free, maybe more DLC should get cheaper the older it gets?

But not everyone is going to hype up "like Rockster do" are they?

I'm not even sure GTA's downloadable content will be a success if my thoughts on the title after 4 weeks are anything to go by. Its only been in my 360 for the racing league.

What your forgetting is the power of the people. Whilst massmarket connectivity is a relatively new thing in consoles, it gives you the DLC shop but it also gives people a voice, as does the net

People can try to scam you with poor DLC but if they do they must be prepared to have a non-selling title thereafter. If its a success like Forza 2, people will want more. If not, they won't.

EA's recent escapades in Battlefields DLC is prime example.

I hope you don't mind, but I'd pasted this into the GTA constructive criticism thread. Partly for the lulz, partly because it doesn't belong in this thread.

But mostly it's the lulz.

I thought the GTA4 DLC was gonna be a new island?

It was confirmed by one of the Housers ((they might have changed their minds since) that it'd be set on the same island, the logic being that they'd already put so much time into building Liberty City, and wanted to set more missions there.

I'd agree with them except it seems like there's already about 10,000 missions in this game, and I don't believe what it needs is more missions.

I don't know though because I ended up finding the game really short.

Niko's story arc is pretty much finished unless you count Bulgarin still being alive but as a character he has reached the peak of his development so trying to do anything else with it is like trying to keep maddy jokes alive.

I'd like to play as a different character, as an undercover cop or something and maybe see some of the storylines that they just discarded by the wayside finished off. Like finding out what the fuck happened to Jonny the biker or the U.L. Paper guy. Maybe as an undercover cop you could actually find it more in character to be genuinely torn between wasting a load of criminals who are already shooting at you and executing someone because the crime lord at the top of the chain says so.

A scope or SOMETHING for the M4 would be nice because it looks stupid all bare.

I wasn't happy with the GTA 4 world's 'memory' - for example, when planning a little carnage you could get a massive truck and park it in the middle of the street but if you wander off too far to get another vehicle the first one disappears.. no explanation. With this generation's GTA I had much higher hopes, but it was something I worried about since Microsoft announced the core 360.

Am I right in thinking the use of a hard drive could help in increasing the 'memory' of this game world?

And if so, could the downloadable content be much more advanced in this regard since it can rely on being played on a console with a hard drive?

He wrote for the bible of the underclass in this country. In my book he deserves everything that's coming to him.

That's a tad harsh.

I worked there for experience and it has helped my career. I worked in Scotland for the Scottish Sun and I did some damn good stories while working there and helped push the government to not close some schools or hospitals. I'm always glad I wrote those type of stories.

I wonder if, perhaps in the next gen, if we allowed community-made DLC with a bit less of the red tape that exists now, if it would be more worthwhile. I've rarely bought any. The only thing I can remember getting was the Mechassault CTF mode - and I was put off by it, because the nature of the gameplay made a lot of the mechs that were previously useless, actually very good. It made me think that it was almost surely finished on paper mid-way through the game's development, and may have even been taken out before release.

Funnily enough on the subject of GTA, I've just read a preview that said you'd be able to ride the rollercoaster and The Cyclone in the funfair. I'm guessing that isn't actually the case then? And in response to somebody who said the transformation of a dilapidated funfair to a working one was a bit strange, is it any stranger than bridges/tunnels in the GTA3 suddenly opening once you'd got to a certain point, having previously been unaccessable?

Oblivion was one of the worst DLC culprits that I know of. The game itself was huge and complete, sure, but that meant that the DLC packages added nothing. The first, Horse Armour, was particulalry notable because the code for the DLC was already in the game files before its release. All the developers did was lock it until you paid a microcharge, which is pretty reprehensible.

The rest of the DLC packages, of which there were many, added tiny and completely unnecessary houses and quests- all essentially very similar but in different settings, and all completely unimaginative. Each of these cost about $3, very small but to me it represents everything that DLC shouldn't be. Micro payments for micro content- I'd much rather pay a bit more for a miniature expansion pack.

What? It's completely realistic to repair the Callahan Bridge in the space of ten minutes
