Looking Glass was the one that sprung immediately to mind, most of their games I played after they'd gone and they still seemed way ahead of their time. I'd love to see what they could do with the power available now.

These would be my top pick. System Shock, Terra Nova and Thief are still high up on the best PC games of all time. In fact Thief is the only game that uses stealth that I have ever enjoyed.

Delphine Software are another I'd like to see come back even if they did make some crap in their time (Shaq Fu anyone). But I adored Another World and Flashback as a kid, they really did feel and look unlike anything else at the time.

I'm more or less satisfied that the spirit of Looking Glass persists in Irrational Games (now 2K Boston).

I'd resurrect either Black Isle Studios (they've made nothing but shit as Obsidian) or Lucasarts circa 1990.

I'm not sure saving studios from EA is a fair contest - we'd be debating all day whether to save Bullfrog, Maxis, Westwood, Origin, Criterion or DICE.
