Sky Odyssey

Gradius V

Ring of Red

La Pucelle Tactics

Okami :)

Gitaroo Man

God of War

Good to see another vote for La Pucelle - my favourite of Nippon Ichi's games.

The Xenosaga trilogy are favourites of mine - although the first is in a different class to the sequels.

In more recent news, I've been playing the rather entertaining The Suffering recently

Global Defence Force

/ thread

I must admit, after the 360 version I didn't get on with the PS2 version. I don't know why, cos may people love it.

(I'm selling it co-incidentally, £4.50 at the moment!)

I know, I saw your trading post. I was sorely, sorely tempted by a couple of things there, but with MSc exams coming up in a couple of weeks, I can't trust myself not to get sucked in to new games when I should be working. Unfortunately I'm not one of these people who can stick games to one side for a few weeks before I play them. I need to open them now NOW, NOW!!

But never fear - I will be following up on everyone in this thread's suggestions once exams are done, so it promises to be a beautiful gaming summer (I am of course assuming that the UK will be stuck on its default summer setting of 'Overcast with rain' again this year so I won't have to leave the house much).

I just bought the Gameware PS3 component cable for my PS2 and frankly, a lot of my PS2 stuff (Like Gradius V and Soul Calibur 3) look amazing.

Well worth it if you have an LCD TV.

Out of interest what size TV are you playing these on? I am using a component on my 37" and tbh they look crap. I am wondering whether official Sony ones or this one you mention would be better.

I'm using it on a Polaroid 19" LCD. I also have a 40" LCD and it looks like garbage on that. I think you just need to sacrifice screen size to get a better picture.

Does anyone know where I can track down a copy of Street Fighter Anniversary Collection? I totally missed it at the time but now I know SFIII is on it, I'd quite like to get hold of it as it'd be slightly easier to play than my jap DC copy.

Edit: It appears that it's called Hyper Street Fighter 2 Anniversay edition over here, which means it was only £8 on Play. I don't doubt that the Japanese DC version is better, but assuming this has a 60 hz option, it shouldn't be awful.

The PAL PS2 version doesn't include Street Fighter III. It just has The Animated Movie  - and not even as a separate DVD, but as a horrible quality video file on the disc itself. :)

I don't know if the PAL Xbox version (which, confusingly, I think is called Anniversary Edition rather than Hyper) has it...?

At the risk of getting a kicking in here.....Extreme G3

I thought it was excellent. Great graphics for its time, real sense speed and some good weapons.

Everything else is probably already mentioned in here (God Hand, etc.)

What a blast from the past!

BOOM! as you went through the sound barrier.

And then everything went quiet.....superb game. Still hated the CPU racers with their sneaky mines. 1000G was ludicrously fast on that. Myself and a mate still play the co-op career mode on this, it's that much fun.

I've pimped this game before on PS2 threads. You can pick it up for next to nothing these days and it's well worth it. Even if you only play the puzzle mode it's still great. It's a sequel to Devil Dice on the PS1. You make groups of dice, 3 3s, 4 4s etc and they explode and cause a chain reaction to any dice lower than that value. The story mode is okay but isn't really the main focus of the game.

Wow, ilpostino posts without mentioning that bomb game  I can't recall/be arsed to look and see if that's for the PS2 or not.

Different ilpostino mate.

Anyway, seeing as I'm here:

Shadow of Memories

Dog of Bay (Import)

Kuri Kuri Mix

ESPN International Track & Field

Aye, it's lovely.

Me and Bujingai have spent a lot of enjoyable hours together. Such a pretty game. Like Ninja Gaiden, but fun. Obviously Gitaroo Man is the best game ever made.

Out of left field a little, and possibly not for everyone, but I really loved Glass Rose. It has it's faults, but it's really charming and very relaxing.
