It's snowing! - beautiful snow in games

I was having a wander around The Jerrall Mountains in Oblivion yesterday, around sunset and it started snowing.

Absolutely beautiful.

Then I stripped down to my underwear and did a lap around Bruma.

BLIZZARD!!! level in Yoshi's Island. The way the snowfall starts gradually, before you go inside an icy cave, only to come back out to find the place under a thick white blanket just blew me away at the time. It's the closest any game has come to nailing that feeling you got when you woke up on a school day to find your street was 6 inches deep in snow ;) Then the level after that had you rolling big snowballs about :D

I didn't think much of the game, but at the time the Hoth level in Rogue (rouge ;)) Leader was beautiful. Blew pretty much everything out the water at the time.

Also I would add...

Okami

Vagrant Story (ok, so they're flies, but still :D)

For some reason Wroth's pic just made me think the skeleton was giving it some 'the roof! the roof! the roof is on fire, we don't give a damn let the motherfucker buuuuurn' but then, I'm silly like that.

That freeware ski racing game on the PC with the abominable snowman ;)

Zak & Wiki's snow levels were nice too.

Heading up the path from Kharanos into Ironforge for the first time is fantastic. I can't wait till Wrath of the Lich King, then we get a shitload of snow to play in. ;)

Snow in WoW is where it's at baby!

It's really at it's best with the effects on full, with the sunlight playing over the drifts and the excellently deep crunch sound as you run through it.

Jack beat me to it, but here's another snowy picture from WoW (this is Winterspring though)

Yes. Outcast was beautiful, and the opening snowy area was no different. Though the stealth training that took place in it was a piece of crap (until it let you off without completing it, which amused me).
