It's a hilariously bad instructional video for use of the DS version of GH...

!

It's not 'bad'

It's tongue in cheek and ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

You should see the Engadget post about it - not a single commenter seems to get that it's not *entirely* serious.

It's the best promotional video I've ever seen :(

I'm in agreement with Rantin' James: the more I see it the more I think it's deliberately awful in a tounge-in-cheek way. I think it's the way it goes from a typically cheesy "rock" voice in the background - one that you'd expect to run through a corny advert - from the actual bloke appearing out of nowhere behind the player - which is obviously when they thought "if we're going to be ridiculously corny, why not go all the way?".

This looks really awkward to play.

It does, but I think they're going to compensate (or decompensate, whichever way you want to look at it) for this by making the songs easy to play. There's only going to be 3 difficulties, and nothing on Hard will be as nightmarish as it say, Raining Blood.

So, in summary. It'll be awkward to play, but it won't make a difference because the songs won't be nearly hard enough to make you fail.

Also, I think this game is fucking retarded and will be shit. The advert is absolutely amazing though.

I'll still be picking it up of course, but only in the hopes that the Guitar Hero grip thing will be used for some interesting homebrew.

Got this today and I'm seriously considering going back in to town shortly to return it. It's THE most uncomfortable gaming experience I've ever had. There is no way to hold this controller and keep the DS remotely stable whilst you struggle with the pick (I've played guitar for nearly 8 years and this thing just feels wrong because of the angle). Notes that you know damn well you hit get missed, or long notes fluff up for no apparent reason as though you let go of the button.

There aren't many tracks, though considering how much my hands are aching after only the first 2 sets, that's probably a good thing. I love GH games and Rock Band, but this has seriously disappointed.

I got it today and find it quite playable (if a little silly), but God, the hand cramps afterwards...

EDIT: and you will ruin your streak if you try and activate star power by tapping your meter. ;) You'd think that with all that screen space they could be a bit more generous... :(
