Hitman Next Gen

Hehe indeed Krypt ;) My method for SA'ing that stage was roughly: (no weapons other than standard equip, of course)

- Leg it through up to the bar, get the aphrodisiac and spike the drink.

- Sneak off to take out (sedate!) the photographer from behind the waterfall - leave him there for now

- Return back to keep an eye on Christian Bale in the tub

- Let him take his floozy to the hotel room, wait for him to finish his business

- Follow him down the stairs, once he's having a smoke outside, push him over the balcony (you should be safely out of view of any guards on the balcony)

- Go back get the photgrapher costume, take the elevator up to the photo shoot

- Climb on the light fixtures, plant a bomb (in the ONLY place you can, lol)

- Await Heffner-alike, detonate. he dies with a bunch of bunny girls. Ha!

- Return to waterfall bit to get my suit

- Leave by boat I came on

Did I forget something? This way was tricky as you have to sneak around the VIP area in a non-VIP costume. It's a shame you can't sedate people when above them in elevators... I'm sure there's some photos or somehting you hav eto nick from the top floor, can't remember  LONG LIVE 47!!

Im sure you have forgotten stuff, dont you have to steal some videotapes on this level as well?

Yeah, there is a security room between the main corridor and the studio where the shoot is taking place, tape is on one of the tables - only one guard there when I sorted it out but I think another patrols through there - and possibly the mark takes that route to the studio too.

You'll find it hard to go back to previous games once you've sampled Blood Money - there are too many new moves and other cool things. I loved the first game at the time, but only a fraction of the levels are any good, and some of the mechanics are woeful. In any case, the best missions are re-made in Contracts. The only reason to play the first one is for the story.

Hitman 2 and Contracts are still really good and worth playing through, but Blood Money blows them away. Blood Money is the only one which has consistantly excellent levels. There are a fair few duffers in 2 (especially) and Contracts.

Righto, thanks.

I remember that being quite tricky, its been ages since I played Hitman, but can you knock people out when you open doors onto them? I seem to vaguely remember doing that as one approached as I watched through the keyhole, then quickly took the other one out with the syringe to the neck. If not then I dreamt it and they should definitely let you knock people out with doors in the sequel.

Nope, that's Spilnter Cell: Chaos Theory you're thinking of, and it was me you knocked out with the door in co-op mode. Even more galling was when you came over and said "why are you lying down over here?"

Back to Hitman: I had to play some of Contracts and Hitman 2 again when my 360 had RROD'ed, and it was quite frustrating going back to them. In hindsight, and compared side-by-side, Contracts is definitely the better game. It's biggest failing was not letting you take a silenced pistol into levels the first time through. You had to do everything with the fibre wire and (pretty useless) dual ballers, which made some levels (mainly the ones where your suit isn't an acceptable costume at the starting point) very frustrating.

You don't need to steal the CCTV tapes on that level. You can avoid the one camera in the area (which is right at the lift) by approaching the lift while sticking close to the wall and making sure the camera isn't directly at you. Then you won't go on CCTV at all.

So it was, that was genius. We should give that a try again some day, its back compat and I still have my copy, hopefully its still not crippled by terrible slowdown (Bit off topic, sorry).

Is it not a porn tape or something to use to blackmail someone as well though? Thats probably another level. I really should play this again, it would be almost fresh due to my frazzled brain.

No you are right, you have to steal some 'evidence' or somethign from a room near the photoshoot - I remember it well now, the route I had worked out meant I always got to that room with the guard(s) facing the wrong way. They don't even mind you being in the room! You just ahve to nick the thing while they're not looking.

Good god I wish I had access to Hitman RIGHT NOW. I really want to play Contracts through again, there were some REALLY good levels in that.. But I know I'll miss the BM additions ;)

Twas a piece of piss to get the tape, as I said there was only one guard in the room when I scored it and he wanders into the corners and stares at the walls. However I thought the spare guard from outside the mark's bedroom and also the mark themselves may use that security room to access the studio. Although I didn't study the patrol patterns that was the impression that I had.

I always wished that there wasn't a limit on how many guns you could carry. In Contracts, I used to tool up with every gun I could possibly stuff into my suit and just massacre everyone on Traditions of the Trade. I used to love doing that.

I know carrying 40 different pistols isn't the most realistic thing in the world, but it was fun to just muck about with everything.

Anyway, I always struggled with the Vegas level because the sound would go off half way through usually. Someone would be shooting at me for no immediately obvious reason and I wouldn't know until I'd been shot. Usually happened in the private area when you have about 6 guards shooting at you. Not fun.

Oh, I thought it just my copy of the game that had borked sound on the Vegas level. Such a shame as House Of Cards is the real highlight of the game for me.

I mentioned it before in the main thread but it is pure Bond. Come to think of it, so is You Better Watch Out. I love this game so much.

God damn but Murder of Crows is quite tough - trying to get silent assassin on this level is a nightmare.

The cops always seem to spot you and your timing has to be perfect.

I still haven't nailed the sneaking up on someone and injecting them with the knock-out stuff. I always get close and the look round. fuck

Just keep pressing 'inject' as you approach - you can only do the animation if you're in range, it's not like you'll miss or anything :) Also make sure you keep the crosshair on them, it should turn red when you're close enough. Oh and use sneak!! (I'm sure you were already! ;))

Murder of Crows was the biggest stalling point the game for me, I had a couple of goes every night, for about a wekk before I did it.. Was fucking ANNOYING, but I loved discovering new ways to bring the death.

Pianos have never looked so good :(

Oh and another thing - you say the cops keep spotting you.. spotting you doing what exactly?

The thing about Murder of Crows is that it all depends on where the random placement puts Kulinsky, the sniper. He can be above any of the three/four bars, and is he's in the first one that the float parade passes, it's very hard indeed to complete the mission.

However, if he's in the last one (which is almost exactly where the float starts at the beginning of the mission) then you have loads of time to do your thing.

The way I managed silent assasin was to:

Across from the bookshop (where the crows hideout is), rig the piano winch with a mine. If you hang around under the balcony of each of the bars you can see where he is. Then get into the bar and up to take him out, I stole his radio so I could keep tabs on the female assassin. I waited for her to go to the alley behind the music shop - where the bomb/piano were rigged and boom. Then across from that alley, down beside the bookshop - dodging guards and the like (I had to sedate one inside) then use his disguise (crow) to get past the guard upstairs and into the albino. I think you can push him over the edge but I like using the fibre wire - body dumped in chest in the same room - steal briefcase - 47 slow walk away

I love how many different ways there are to get through each level :);)

There are a few that I don't want to do again tbh (like the riverboat :() but some that are aces!

I cannot get the silent fucking assassin rating on Murder of Crows and it is driving me nuts.

The closest I have came is getting close to the last guy to garot him and he turned...AAHHH!!!!

Everything before that was silent.

The main problem I have is killling the guy in the room cause his guard keeps walking in and out.

I just pushed his guard down the spiral staircase. Chalk up one 'accident'

I favour the old 'human shield' approach - sometimes when I pushed him down one of the other guards would find his corpse. An accident yes, but no point raising everyone's suspicions.

I wait against the wall the top of the stairs where the guard sometimes stands, and while his back's turned (i.e. when he's looking down the stairs) use him as a human shield. Walk him to the door where the albino is, then pull him to the side (out of sight of said door) and knock him unconscious. Dress up as him (the guard can walk into the albino's room without him getting suspicious if you just stand around - I can't remember if the same is true for the delivery costume), then do similar with the albino himself: wait for him to walk to the window, then human shield him, knock him unconscious and inject him. Or just shoot him with a silenced pistol, whatever floats your boat.

Here's a vid of someone getting SA on that level and not even using any disguises!!!

Good one, I hadn't thought of using him as a human shield.

I favour the silenced pistol shot to the back of the head for the Albino. Clean, swift, and strangely satisfying
