Photo Contest - February

Recommended Posts

Subject: Time

Closing Date: 8PM, 29th February 2008

The subject for this month's Rllmuk photo contest, as chosen by last months winner, iwan canobi, is:

Time

"No specifics, just people's interpretation of time, a precious commodity that is ever more important in day to day lives."

The contest is open to anyone on the forum. Don't worry about your skillz - this is just for fun - but hopefully it will help people improve their photography, whatever level they're at. To aid this, feedback and constructive criticism are encouraged.

Rules

- Photographs must be taken by you - no nicking them off the Web

- Photos must be taken specifically for the contest - get out there and get snapping!

- One picture per person.

- No excessive digital manipulation (i.e. adding a more dramatic sky from another photo to your picture, or creating negative images etc.). Cropping, and adjusting levels, contrast, saturation etc. is ok though.

- Equipment: Anything goes as long as the results can be seen from here.

- Voting takes place when the contest closes.

- The winner of the contest gets to choose the next subject.

- The closing date for entries is 8pm on the last day of the month. I will, however, give leeway to any pictures that come between this time and when I begin the voting topic. Best not to chance it though.

Any suggestions on how to make this run better are welcome in the rules discussion topic.

NOTE: Please do not post pictures in this thread unless they are valid entries for the contest (see rules above). Thanks.

Anyone had any ideas for this? Iv seen a few things I could possibly snap, but its such an vast subject choice I want to do something really out of the ordinary for it.

exactly! clocks is too easy, unless I can get inside the cogwheel house of a big ole church tower jobbie...

ironically I didnt have 'time' to do the shot i was wanting, which is annoying. So I threw my backup plan together in about 5 minutes this morning!

I wanted to write something witty on the to do list but couldnt think of anything quick enough...

You should have put "Think of something witty for the To Do list". Anyway, really like the photo. I notice all the big guns are coming out on the last day.

Theres a shopping center near me with a massive floor to ceiling clock face, I wanted to get that on the right hand side and then someone standing still on the left, with blurred people walking past. I can picture it perfectly but I just didnt have time to go. Plus im sure the security at the shopping center would find some way to accuse me of terrorism......:(

Similar idea to mine (which I also didn't get the chance to carry out); I was going to go for a slow sync flash sort of option with my model the only frozen person in a crowd (shot in a busy shopping street at night). Unfortunately this short month screwed things up, cos tomorrow's going to be the first time I've seen her since the 1st :(
