I love this movie. It's one of the most touching, achingly sad films I've ever seen. That Neeson's character can only conceptualize his love for his daughter through the medium of extreme violence, is heart rending. Especially for that guy who got a broken bottle through his chest.

Same here. He adds a lot of intensity to it and dare I say it an air of authenticity to it as despite being incredibly silly you don't believe for one moment his character won't kill anyone who gets in his way. Thankfully, for action fans, a lot of people do get in his way :D

Here's a question.

Say for example Taken was essentially a pilot for a series based around the Mills character, what would the theme tune be?

I'm actually thinking about cutting this together for a laugh, a fake 1 minute title sequence for a MIlls TV show.

It would basically be this.

With Liam Neeson saying at the start, "I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

That's a great intro. I forgot how good the Equaliser was.

I watched Taken today. It feels like a remake of the kidnap portions of 24 season 1, with a main character who somehow has even less trouble evading and taking out waves of mooks than Bourne, Bauer or Bond do. It's dumb, full of plot holes, the fights are decent enough, and the big car chase is incoherent.

... But oh, that mid-film shootout! One-sided it may be, but it's also of the best movie gunfights I've seen in a long time - and when I say that I'm including my recent rewatches of Hard-Boiled and The Killer.

Now I've read through this thread I'm going to quote this post so you can all go back and pos it:

Taken Back it should be called. 90 minutes of Neeson trying to take that karaoke machine back to the shop but the guy can't give him a refund because he can't get his very particular set of tills open.
