Fuck me. As an England fan, I wasn't exactly brimming with confidence about today, but that was utter destruction. Humiliation.

I don't know what Ireland's biggest win against England is, but they have a great chance of setting a new record next week!

Sure Ireland’s squad will be focused on Scotland but surely a few thoughts of ‘let’s do the same next week’ will be entertained watching that.

That was brutal by France.

A win is a win but I don't really know what to make of that, Rhys Webb was fantastic though.

Yes, Webb made all the difference didn’t he. Incisive, quick recycling and much better kicking. The team overall looked ineffectual though. The 10,12,13 selection look very average and why does the man mountain Mason Grady so rarely carry in to contact?

I have to say though that was one of the worst referees I’ve ever seen. He couldn’t make a decision for himself, was constantly being coached by the touch judge and even when the video ref gave him clear views he still fucked it up. Oh, and then he moaned about her twice  to the players. Awful.

England v France! Bloody hell. You just knew something special was happening within 15 minutes. France don’t even do anything crazy, they just do the basics so well don’t they. Such a joy to watch (as long as they aren’t playing against your team). England just looked overwhelmed so early. Bullied off the ball and made everything complicated.

Should be some game tomorrow but wouldn’t surprise me if Scotland get absolutely humbled  by Ireland.

43-13 at Croke Park in 2007. Previous best was 22-0 all the way back in 1947.

I don't think that's something the Irish should or would think about. That French side yesterday was at a different level that the team we played in the first round. Granted England allowed the French play their game which only made matters worse for England.

Ireland are different from France and next week both teams will present different challenges. I still do think we will win, but it won't be as easy as France made it look yesterday.

Right now I'm more worried about today.

What a game to finish the round off. Both teams so good in the first half but Ireland too good as time went on. What about Ireland’s flanker casually shifting to hooking duties and making it look easy!

While at the same time we had 3 props in the front row. Credit to Scotland they challenged us, especially when things weren't clicking for us in the first half. It was nail biting stuff.

From an Irish perspective the biggest thing to take from that game was the mentality of the players. In the first half you've lost 2 hookers, 1 second row and 1 flanker.

Yep, that's what the confidence of being the Number 1 team in the world does for you!

No big surprise but feel for Smith being dropped for Farrell.

The welsh team looks good and almost exactly the 15 I would have hoped to see. The backline of Dyer, Adams and Rees-Zammit is very exciting on paper. Let's hope bringing Tompkins back can unlock some creativity.

They need to sort out this red card situation. Combined with overzealous TMO that wastes time reviewing even the most trivial incidents, it's ruining the game as a spectacle.

Yeah I'm only a casual fan but it seems about a third of the games I've seen recently have been ruined by a red card. Obviously looking after the players should be a priority but they need a less game-changing punishment, especially like today when there was clearly no ill-intent.

Anyway well done Ireland, thought they might bottle it today for a while.

It seems Bobby "the rope" Boucher (Paul Sturrige to others), Wales strength and conditioning coach has decided to leave now rather than after the world cup. He's pretty much considered one of the best in the world and it feels like losing another of Shaun Edwards calibre from the Welsh setup, pretty shitty really.

Stuart Hogg is retiring after the World Cup. He's only going to be 31, but I think it's a good shout with the injuries he's had. A magical player whose done Scotland and Rugby as a while proud I'd say.

So Llanelli RFC have announced they are pulling out of the Welsh Premiership next season as they believe they will be unable to field a team across the expanded season while also providing development pool of players for the Scarlets . :( What a mess Welsh rugby is in.

Incredible match between Exeter and Montpellier in the Champions Cup. 84th minute penalty from the French side to level the scores and take it into extra time.

Spoiler

And when Montpelier scored their fourth try to lead 33-26, Exeter had to make an incredible last minute try and conversion to make it 33-33 - putting Exeter through on try count, 5 to 4!

The Red Roses were brilliant against Italy in the Six Nations, especially prop Sarah Bern and fullback/wing Abbey Dow. 12 tries in total. Great cohesion shown despite the huge number of injuries and players out.

Wasps refused a space in the Championship, as it stands they will have to play in the tenth tier.

London Irish late paying April wages, so they have until the 30th of May to provide financial assurances.
