who really cares about the bloke he used to work with and the woman he had an affair with?

Thinking about this a little more...I don't think you're understanding Walt's character very well. Here's a guy who struggles with being assertive (at least in recent years) and has all but given up on life. The flashback which had him talking chemistry with the woman when they were younger showed him as a confident man. Nowadays, he's a shadow of himself, yet there's still a fire in his belly, there still lingers a hint of who he once was.

So, "who really cares about the bloke and the woman from his past?" Well, considering they are the most important clues to his current situation, I'd have thought "anybody with any sense" would qualify as a decent answer.

I like the show.

But I wish in the pilot episode they hadn't opened it with that teaser. It seems like a staple format in american tv shows is to begin an episode with something a bit crazy and then say '24 hours earlier' and build up to it again. You don't really need it and it doesn't improve the episode. Would have worked better if the episode had ended with the sirens and the gun as the cliffhanger.

It doesn't have Weeds feeling of quality (or it's glorious liberalism spliced into the episodes) but it's good and I have no idea where it's going after seein the first two episodes. There's definately no 'formula' it's fitting into, storywise. Don't even know what genre it is!

Damn it anyway.

In better news, though, uncensored versions of the first two eps are 'available'. :D

The video quality isn't as good as the censored versions, unfortunately. 300mb & 224mb files respectively.

I uploaded a little clip from the pilot. Hopefully every episode will become available uncensored.

Not sure, TV.com forums are saying it was cut short due to the strike (was originally nine episodes) but haven't found anything official.

It isn't really a show that can run and run for obvious reasons, but a second series would certainly be welcome.

It's really good but I think they can only take Walt's outbursts so far before it makes a mockery of itself. After the amazing emotion and poignancy of the intervention scene, where even the hilariously annoying sister breaks down during Walt's speech, the sheer mentalness of episode 6's ending did throw me a bit. I think they'll have to tread a fine balance between the real mundane human drama and the balls out meth madness to keep both aspects legitimate and valid but I think they've been successful so far.

Also, the DEA uncle's sub-Chiklis posturing is annoying me a bit but I suppose that's intentional.

That was a right cracker of an episode, reminded me of South Park's very own Randy Marsh from the 'Virgin Mary' episode when he decided to shave his head. :)

A very back on to formula episode. Can't wait to see how things change in the next one.

Jesus Christ, that was absolutely brilliant. :( What an ending! My favourite episode yet.

If this show isn't renewed it'll be one of the biggest crimes in recent US entertainment history.

There just too much quality on show here, to only last 7 episodes. I wonder they had time to give it a proper ending, or if it was cut short, mid filming? Anyone know the status?

Brian Cranston was also in a really good X-Files episode called Drive where he plays a guy who hates jews, and takes Mulder hostage in his car. It was written by Vince Gilligan too, creator of Breaking Bad. Watch it, it's ace.

To save me the effort of looking, what season?

I fucking love this show. Every character is a joy, it's thoughtfully shot and it has some great tunes to stitch it together.

Ep 6 has me worried - now that the cops are soon to arrive at the scene of the explosion, will Walt's face be found on the CCTV?

and it's pretty good.

A bit slap-sticky in parts (the chemical robbery and the fake labour) but I think Walt has accepted that he's in the drugs business for real now. I love how the characters have kind of swapped places now, back at the start Walt wanted out and Jesse convinced him to keep cooking but now it's Walt calling the shots.

Please give us a second season AMC.

Another absolutely brilliant episode. Like you said, it was a bit slap-sticky in places, but it didn't stop it from being hilarious at the same time. Definitely the funniest of the 7 episodes. I loved it. The chemistry(pun intended) between the two leads is among the best on tv.

If ever a show deserved a second season, this is it.
