I'll try a Waits one.

Kentucky Avenue (Blue Valentine)

Invitation to the Blues (Small Change)

Tango 'Til They're Sore (Rain Dogs)

Dirt In The Ground (Bone Machine)

San Diego Serenade (The Heart of Saturday Night)

Ruby's Arms (Heartattack and Vine)

New Coat of Paint (The Heart of Saturday Night)

Come On Up To The House (Mule Variations)

Hoist That Rag (Real Gone)

Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis (Blue Valentine)

And there's about 20 more that could fit easily in there. Had to let some real gems out to make it a list of 10.

Interesting, thanks chaps. I've been meaning to start listening to some Tom Waits, but it's a little daunting without knowing where to start.

Can't go far wrong with the lists myself, Rsdio and thingymajig have posted. It's a very rewarding experience, getting to know Waits' music.

Good one (God I love Cortez), but I'd put "Ordinary people", from the last album, just to show how great he still is.

Oh, and any Young fan (well, in fact, everybody) should buy/steal the recently released Live at Massey Hall. If you like Harvest, you'll simply love that.

Rime Of The Ancient Mariner? Er, I think that's a bit much for a new fan to be dealing with at 10 minutes+! How about Wasted Years or Aces High?
