Games Workshop, An Appreciation Thread

I stumped up for a totally dodgy russian recast DG daredao Dreadnought. It's in the options for my DG list on battlescribe but not in the codex, is that an issue?

I hope not as long range hitting on 2s is sorely needed (even without DR saves). Combining that with 2 PBCs and 3 MBHs could be pretty nasty.

It’s forgeworld so none of that stuff is in the codex. You should be fine.

My local GW is running a painting competition on the 40K Chibi figures!

Does anyone have any single units they want to sell please?

Ideally looking for one of the Grey Knights or Space Marines please.

Saves me dredging ebay and the like looking for them.

I'm sorry that I can't help you, but Googling that was a delight, so thanks.

Currently resupplying some items from Element Games and realised my box wont have any more plastic in it to go on the shame pile which is clearly unacceptable. Question is Penitent Engines or a Helldrake...? Not sure I want a Knight at this stage, might try and get one of those second hand on Ebay.

Nation turns to Warhammer players for advice on how to stay at home for two weeks

 March 4, 2020

 Written by Arabin Patson

Pungent men with severe vitamin D deficiency and a large collection of overpriced figurines are suddenly very much in demand as they are deemed the nation’s greatest experts at staying indoors for weeks on end while they paint space goblins.

I’d happily be quarantined, it’d help make a dent in the pile of shame.

Speaking of which. I built my warcry box, so that’s a shitload of minis and scenery, then I kind of bought the nighthaunt box, then realised a few bits and bobs would combine with some other stuff like underworlds warbands and Sigmar starter sets and to cut a long story short I now have 7 war bands for warcry and about 70 minis to paint.

I ended up buying the Helldranke and the penitent engines.

@And do you find yourself thinking in detachments? I have about 5 different Battalions for no other reason than I want complete for org slots.

Given that I'm going to be stuck at home much of next week, I think it's finally time to get some Artis Opus brushes and a Knight. Possibly two.

Literally any bloody excuse.

So games workshop will be the only company to profit from the covid pandemic as millions of nerds are shut in and tackle their piles of shame.

New HQ for my Genestealers. Went a but heavy on the face but think she looks alright.

I got the plastic sisters in the end so my plastic soldier collection is going to be more gender balanced

My boss asked whether I would like to work from home as I am the only pleb that takes public transport to the office. He asked me four times.

I have taken the subtlest of subtle hints. Since I'm saving over two hours a day (an hour commute each way, no need to iron shirts, plus time saved by being able to, for example, chuck laundry on while I make tea), I've jumped back in feet first. Dark Imperium and a little bundle of paints should arrive Friday.

I have anxiety as I haven't painted anything in maybe 20 years, despite a drunken ebay purchase of a couple of models a month ago. But it'll keep me busy and angry, if nothing else

Don’t be anxious. It’s supposed to be fun.
get some of the GW’s plastic glue. It’s loads easier than superglue for building the guys and I wish I’d known that to start with.
Enjoy.

Apparently all the GW stores shut down from tomorrow in Germany. I've already got a knight on the way, might use this crisis as an excuse to build up my shame pile.

All non essential public facing businesses are shutting down after today here in Kentucky which I'm going to assume includes all gaming stores.

Not that it makes much difference to me. I'm a lazy anti social bum so I've not needed any adjustment to my life.

Anyway, I'm thinking of doing some youtube videos. If there's any hobby content you'd like me to cover then feel free to ask.

Ohh I'm looking forward to it, but I'm well aware that I'm likely to get frustrated during the early bit of the learning curve.

I picked up the Citadel 'essentials' set. Seemed like a decent deal to get cracking on the starter set and comes with their glue. The nozzle on it looks useful - I have vague memories of glass bottles of the stuff that came with a brush in the lid that would happily swamp the mini, your fingers and a bit of the table with the damn goo.
