Okay I'm in.

Read that blog post, not sure what to make of it. It can't have taken them this long to sort all that out. I know they've had Left 4 Dead at the forefront but it just doesn't feel right. It feels like they never really intended to update the 360 version, otherwise they'd have built the capacity into it during development.

It does seem a bit short-sighted to release the game in a state which is so difficult to update. But then again they were trying to release three new games at once on two different platforms. Their main priority must have been to get a version of TF2 which actually worked, rather than 'wasting' time trying to optimise 360 memory usage.

I keep fearing that the 360 update has been shelved, so it's quite encouraging that they would post this progress update unprompted.

Re the updates - presumably they're also going to wait until all the character class updates & new maps are done. I don't know how many character updates are still on the way, Sniper shortly though.

This week's game will complete the first year of TF2 Thursdays. Next week is our anniversary game.

nemo they could potentially update all of the classes, then continue updating classes that have already been updated. It could be neverending.

I think though that once they've been able to update the base game to include extra game modes, character inventory modification, new maps, the minor changes to every class, and a billion bug fixes, it would be easier to add new updates in future. I'm basing this on absolutely nothing of course.

I heard an estimate on the PC Gamer US podcast, they update a class every few months, so by the time they've done all nine + a mystery tenth that was hinted at, it would be mid-2010. It wouldn't be so bad if they just let us use the new maps, added them to the selection.

they can't really. Most of them use new game rules or game types. and graphical assets. I mean if they're doing one thing they need to do everything else really.

When you play with the same group of people you get used to how they work, so it's always refreshing to play randoms now and again, even if it's not always that satisfying. Personally I loved it as I managed to score.
