Boris AND Sunn0))

Maybe I'll try and gather some people together to go

Website pls

Boris and sunn o))) perform altar at the Forum on the 10th December. Should be a spectacular night..

sunn 0)))'s performance at the Hippodrome last year was abso-fucking-lutely incredible and stands as the best gig I've been towith the possible excpetion of the peerless Shellac's first show outside of N America at a tiny wee venue in northLondon back in the early 90's....

Oh yeah, Earth are the support at the Forum. You won't do much better than that...

sunn o))) - Boris - Earth

Anyone going to the Hallowe'en event at the Kentish Town Forum? Deerhoof, Liars, Deerhunter, Black Lips and Fuck Buttons are all playing!

I do really wanna go to it, i just have to see if i can get a crew down for it. its way worth it. Liars are one of my favourites.

I can't believe i forgot Earth are playing at ATP. They're gonna kick so much ass. I'm really hoping Boris and Sunn0))) will do something together at the festival because altar is immense and i'm probably not gonna go to the forum on the 10th.

ATP festivals are undeniably great and infinitely superior to the dross of the summer festivals but the same bands do seem to keep coming round year in, year out..

Do the curators really all like pretty much the same bands these days? And how many of the bands re the curators actually picking? I remember some comments from slint regarding their selection a couple of years ago, most of which was actually made by ATP temselves as the members of slint had no idea about current music...

And I know if I look carefully that it's really not the same few but there are certain regulars that o keep turning up. Or maybe it's just that the selection of bands is very much in keeping with the ATP house style, even if they haven't played the festival before, they are exactly the kinds of band I would expect. That's probably it..

Yeah, that Slint thing was a shambles.

I'm very interested in the pitchfork-curated one in 2008; I have a feeling it'll avoid some of the pitfalls you've mentioned here (much like vs. the fans did this year, IMO). And if it's anything like the Pitchfork fests in the US.. bucketfuls of WIN

Yeah, it can only be an improvement on recent festivals..

I'm still besides myself at the prospect of sunn o))), Earth and Boris on the same stage! I'm hoping for an encore of Her Lips Were Wet With Venom with all three bands...
