Tripe

I am kinda curious about tripe, it sounds and looks like the most foulest food ever imaginable, but the over 60's swear by it. I saw a Gordon Ramsey program a while back where he was making tripe dishes, no matter what he did to it though it still looked gross.

So has anyone tried it? do you like it?

Yes. Kinda. The smell's worse than the taste.

I'm one of those people that will try anything, and I've had tripe and enjoyed it.

But then I found out that they actually wash the tripe in bleach when preparing it which kind of put me off it.

Yeah I eat it like that quite often. Looks kinda funny, but it tastes nice.

I guess its to make it white, and also to kill off all the stomach bacteria.

Yeah me too. I'll pretty much try anything once, if not I'd have never known that a sausage made out of congealed blood could be so damn tasty.

Never had tripe mind.

I ate chitterlings in France - they were on the menu as sausage but are actually pigs intestines sliced and fried or something. Wouldn't eat it again!

Not like a decent sausage where everything is minced up...
