I use dash view but adjusted to narrow, best way to play the game IMO

Nice! I wondered what that setting was for, I'm now using narrower. Cheers!

So what's the deal with head tracking, is it only in arcade and only in a specific view?

I'm using the narrowest view so suspect it's he same, best way!

From what I have read it only works on premium cars in cockpit view - not tried it personally but may have a bash over the weekend!

Just tried the webcam thing, indeed, car view and arcade only. It's technically quite cool. You move/tilt your head and it follows. But not really enough... I couldn't look up at the rear-view, for example. Or down at the speedo.

What's the rule of thumb with break bias. Drop some science on me.

Depends on how you want the car to behave when trail braking. Move towards the front for understeer, back for oversteer. A little change here makes a big difference so don't go nuts with something like 25% front 75% back!

I think the idea is to chuck him in a vastly overpowered car on a higher level track and let him grind out several levels a race.

Now, whose idea was it to have a minute of cut-scene, cos that's what it is, every time I want to retry the "Leaving from the pits" event on the NASCAR special? FFS! I get annoyed having to go all the way back to the main screen when you win a cup (that's not gold obv) let alone having to sit around waiting for that crap!

Did the Lotus 1111 Seasonal at first attempt, nice little car that.

I thought second b-spec drivers would be same level as your original? My original is 22, just got a new b-spec and he's 1! WTF!!!

No you have a b-spec level for yourself that decides on races able to enter, then each individual driver has his own level as well. So you could have a team of 6 drivers ranging from 30 down to 1, and your b-spec level is at 35 and you can stick them all in Endurance events.

At least they took out the annoying "You've won silver again! Back to main screen!" ending to a race and allowed you to instantly Retry. Shame they didn't throw that in for everything.

Last night i did the first of the endurance races, two and half hours thrashing a Mk5 Golf round Grand valley. Watching the medium racing tires die over 15 laps. Watching the AI get stuck in traffic, then pit onthe last lap after struggerling for 10 laps on used tires as i piss off into the distance. I chose the Golf 100 bhp underpowereed so i'd at least get a race.

two and half hours of my life i will never get back.

For 164,000 credits and poxy standard Lv8 Honda HSC '03 that is utter wank.

Anyway, Is the '03 Tom's Toyota Supra JGTC worth getting for the seasonal race, a car which i simply adore and have done since the very first GT game

Or do i get the '08 Motul Nissan GT-R JGT car which won the championship in 2009.

Indeed the tom's Castro supra sounded fantastic in gt4. It never was the fastest, but I found it was the easiest to set up and was very Drivable. Giving plenty of warming when it was going to spin. I just worry that they've bugggered around with it making it slow and crappy against the more modern IVY cars like the motul.

Regarding brake bias. I've found as a pad user that rear bias is a must otherwise I just lock the fronts whenever I hit the brake. with the bigger cars as much as 3/7 front to rear.

That makes no sense tho, mind neither does playing on a pad ;)

I just did the Volvo C30-R seasonal, forgot to change the brake bias and as ever heavy braking into a corner and there goes the rear end - i am a big trail braker (even in IRL as commented by the VXR chaps at Snetterton) so it could be my style but i always have to have more braking at the front and thats how cars should be!

One of the best feelings in the game for me is heavy braking into a corner and having the back step out just enough to get you into the apex where you can get on the power enough to smear the rear tyres across the road and exit the corner without needing any steering lock.

Basically any situation where I'm over the limit of the tyres is tops and when I really feel the cars come alive in my hands.

Jesus, that Like The Wind has nearly broken me - the oval was easy when you gave the ZR1 more downforce but Daytona was killing me! Totally mental as i was faster bar a couple of corners on the infield but i got a 2nd and then i was leading on last lap by 1.8s and i just fell apart, sneaked the win by .5s

Glad i dont ever have to do that again, total mental block on that track for whatever reason!

I got the Toms Toyota bob, its epic and can win the JGT pretty easily with adjusted top speed.

Hmm, why didnt i think of changing car for that? Did you buy or win the Chaparel Layte?

I just did the Nascar special thing, easy peasy on the ol wheel so have a Nascar ready for that series now - just need to get some B-spec stuff done now before the final assault on A-spec :o
