That whole thing with her knee is a complete non-event.  She's not allowed to carry on with blood running down her leg - it was an enforced medical time-out.  Unfortunately Fernandez decided it was gamesmanship, and let it effect her.

I found it weird that there was even a timeout applied for a blood injury. Raducanu probably would have played on - with the adrenaline you don't even feel that sort of thing - and it's absurd that the match might have been stopped if the trainer couldn't stem it.

I think I jinxed this. I find watching tennis quite dull, but obviously I've seen the story in the news, so when I found out it was on twenty minutes ago, I switched over from watching The Untouchables (one of my very favourite films ever). This coincided with Emma missing her first two match points. It was downhill from there. After the injury it was looking touch and go - the momentum had shifted a fair bit. Then I needed to pop off for a quick piss. I heard the roar when she won whilst I was washing my hands. Sorry for putting you through that, I should have just stuck with the film, and just read about it afterwards.

I feel like you wrote most of that all out when it looked like the comeback was on and didn't want to throw away your work.
