I don't think it's getting a wide release - more a slow limited release. As you say, it'd be a tough sell to a mass market.

saw 20 minutes of this at Cannes and it has that unnerving menace that pervaded throughout Magnolia. It seems like it will be unbearably tense. And that title, I mean WHAT a fucking title.

thinking more and more about it, I think Daniel day lewis may be the greatest actor alive today. Its almost infuriating that he doesn't work more, as he is simply depriving people of his ridiculous talent

Agreed, how he didnt win the oscar for Gangs of New York is beyond me It might not have been Scorsese´s best film but his performance in that was superb and made it for me.

Well yeah but what films have been/going to be released that are going to have male leads in the running for the oscar? I think I have heard George Clooney being mentioned again for his football film and possibly Christian Bale and Russel Crowe for their performances in Yuma.

Oh wow. Just watched the trailer. How did I miss it before? That looks like it could be superb. Looks like another amazing Day Lewis performance.

I like the fact that Danial Day Lewis doesn't do that many films as when he does its always such a memorable performance. He doesn't spoil that by turning up as a comedy bad guy in Rocky and Bullwinkle for example.

Looks intense and bizarre. That trailer reminded me a lot of The Shining. I really can't wait to see it - Paul Thomas Anderson has yet to make a less-than-great film, and this looks like no exception.

Was Magnolia really Anderson's last movie, or did I miss one, because Magnolia was an age ago. I can't wait to see this one, the title and posters are making my mouth water in anticipation

Punchdrunk Love was between this and Magnolia. Punchdrunk Love was a really great film too imo, although very different to his others.
