olliey
I went on opening night and the penultimate gig, both were amazing shows that whilst having the same essence were completely different at the same time. If only I lived closer to London I would have gone to many more.

moosegrinder
You've seen An Evening With Kevin Smith, yeah? Tells you everything you need to know, really. I'm sure he's a musical genius etc etc but he's comepletely batshit fucking loco.
MalevolentPanda
He's a complete fucking dick. Laughable that he should take this stance when you consider his history of comparing recording contracts to slavery.
LittleJoe
Controversy followed this decision, too, when a mother from Pennsylvania posted a clip of her baby dancing to his 1984 hit Let's Go Crazy and Prince's lawyers demanded it was taken down. He's mental! As I've said before in this thread his 21 nights in London could have done so much more for his reputation and legacy if he hadn't completely stifled his own fans promoting in on Youtube and Prince fansites. Guest
I respect the fact that Prince is crazy. We need more batshit mental people in music.
biglime
Man, I got Prince's back forever. Check his "response" to all the fansite complaining (his fansites are full of arseholes) - a killer fuck-you song he recorded in a night - HERE Prince plays the PR games like no-one else. And then kicks out a killer track in a heartbeat.
LittleJoe
Amazing. Better than 90% of Planet Earth. Where can I download it? Just to 'Fuck you' him back of course.
Ingy
Where can I download it? Just to 'Fuck you' him back of course. Not that I endorse any form of Prince-defiance, but there's a link to an mp3 of the song on the 'Prince Fans United' website.
Calashnikov
So what with all that cease and desist shite flying around all the Prince sites hosting videos and music it now seems totally impossible to download even his free internet albums, Xpectation, The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse. Does anyone out there have them and, if so, would it be cool if you could make them available? Be wary of cease and desist flack from P's attorneys, like

larrydavidsanger
It's a fucking good show, that level of excitement should be the minimum. Never been to Croke Park, isn't it roughly 80,000 capacity?
Guest
83,000 I think. Not sure for concerts though. I was so jealous of the whole 21 nights thing so I have to make this. Even though the euro rate is horrible (I'm from Northern Ireland) and the price will be exorbitant, to see such a genius in the flesh will be worth it. larrydavidsanger
I'm from N.I. too, is the conversion rate poor at the moment or has it always been that way? I thought it was something like 1.70 Euro to the £. Hopefully prince will keep the price at 31.21, I'm willing to pay around £60 though if I have to
Guest
I think we will have to. The Euro has been kicking the pound to death the last 6 months or so.
Graham S
There's some ridiculous official coffee table book 21 Nights, £30 RRP, £13.50 on amazon. It includes a CD taken from the Indigo aftershows. Not sure that it's a brilliant buy after a quick scan of the housequake forums, but it feels like an essential purchase for me as a memento of that summer. Calashnikov
I could be wrong, but I think I read a while back that the CD is just one song, '3121' I'd hoped to hear that version of Controversy that he did with Common that you described from the Indigo. Graham S
3121girls & boys song of the heart just like u (monologue) Satisfied beggin` woman blues rock steady w/ beverly knight whole lotta love alphabet street indigo nights misty blue w/ shelby j. baby love the one all the critics love u in london THere are some bootlegs on demonoid of the indigo shows, but I've seen nothing of the Common night. To be honest, the bootlegs are less exciting than I remember them seeming in person, so maybe it's for the best.
Calashnikov
Ah, that might be worth a purchase after all. I'd imagine it's pretty much essential for you, Graham. What with going along to so many nights. There will be actual photographs in the book that you'll probably have seen being taken.
LittleJoe
There's not that many pictures of the actual gigs in the book, it's mainly just Prince posing about in hotels looking slightly strange with women draped around him. Has anyone heard any of his five new songs? They've been premiered on some LA radio station but, Prince being Prince, they're being taken down as quickly as they're uploaded on any blog.
