Tracklist for you elmo...

Isolation part 2 - Pulusha

Mark Pritchard and Kirsty Hawkshaw collaboration

Bit of a chilled out track this, a slow builder. 2:20 in and still nothing really but to be fair it's quite calming. Overall it's quite nice, it needs to build to something though maybe a soft beat, however i always like my intro's to be like this so i'm happy! And usually with a track like this it leaves me thinking 'It could be a few minutes shorter' i don't feel like that with this one.

Two - Bluefish

This is an ambientish remix of One which is much more beaty

Not my sort of thing at all... too 'electronic' if thats the right word. I have time for dance music but not the sort that gets dragged out too much.

Heliopolis - Banco de Gaia

Oldie but a goodie...

not much change here, but this seems to be going somewhere, Has alot more direction and flow than the last track and i'm tapping away feeling pleased!

Not Giving Up - Quivver

Nice breaksy stuff

This is more like it, a harder beat, more teasing sound, yeah i like this one, definitely the best on the album so far

Antacid II - Link & E621

Found this one boring. Nothing to see here!

Faith and Technology pt 1 - Gypsy

Found this too dull also. It needs to build to something. I like dancing to music, and i like dancing to dance music, but this stuff just makes me want to lay down with my eyes closed.

Faith and Technology pt 2 - Gypsy

Slightly more upbeat, mixed in with track 6 but not enough to to really do it for me.

Angel - Massive Attack

Yeah, I saw this done live on the tele and have had it stuck in my head ever since.

I know this one. Not sure from what, an advert i think. Yeah i dig it, it's dark and thank fuck for guitars :P

Ride a white Horse - Goldfrapp (Ewan Pearson remix)

I've said about this before ;)

wow 15 minutes... well it has started very well... digging this. Vocals are lovely, and a nice bumpy feel to it. A good end to an OK album.

I did plan this out for someone else but I'm glad you liked some of it. Not your usual style I guess so thanks for giving it a go. If I get round to it I'll send you something with some more guitars on as a bonus!

Cheers

As it's almost the end of the month, here's the tracklisting for my CD this month (for Bleep):

1 - An Old Hook - Cassetteboy

2 - Jesus Give Me Water - The Dixiaires

3 - Perverted Science - Link (presumably, it's from the Theory of Evolution compilation)

4 - Ooh Baby - West Street Mob

5 - Mad (Bleeker Street Hip Hop Formula) - Kurtis Mantronik

6 - Carmina Burana - Claudio Simonetti

7 - Um 'Oh' E Um 'Ah' - Tom Zé

8 - Theme From Sprite - Squarepusher

9 - Just a Rumour - The Beatles

10 - Dirtwah - Kid Spatula

11 - Walkabout - Throbbing Gristle

12 - Sensorama - Global Communication

13 - If I Had a Happy Place This Would Be It - Kid 606

14 - Upside Down - Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush OST

15 - Jet Lag - DMX Krew

16 - Kraak (Plastikman Abstract Mix) - Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia

17 - Root: Untitled (Stereolab Remix) - Thurston Moore

18 - The Fingernails - Aleister Crowley

19 - Punkshit - Kid 606 (I didn't notice he was repeated in the track listing, but I also duped Link and Global Communication, so at least it wasn't a lonely, solitary error.)

20 - Steal Ragga - Shitmat

21 - Husikam Rave Dojo - Venetian Snares

22 - Too Many Fucking Stairs - Enduser

23 - Jerusalem on the Moors - KLF

24 - Jangly Watt.sits on the Prom - Cassetteboy (a third repeat, but when they only last ten seconds it's not so bad.)

So there you go, I tried to steadily raise the lunacy quotient as the disc progressed (with a little lull in the middle as a buffer), though I may have misplaced the Simonetti in that regard, bless him. Hope something in there made it all worthwhile for you.

Some long overdue feedback for MW_Jimmy:

01. Devil McDoom - Watching Sleazy UFOs Passing By

Really catchy little track sounds a bit like Pepe Deluxe actually a nice way to start.

02. Alex Attias presents Mustang - Future Jazz (Ft. Del & Ruti Halvani)

This is one of those tracks that shouldn't work with basically opera mixed with hip hop but it's nicely done.

03. Terri Walker - This Is My Time

I don't normally go for R&B but this is really quite listenable. Good stuff.

04. Pharrell - How Does It Feel (?uestlove Mix)

I liked N.E.R.D but don't usually like Pharrel's solo stuff I guess ?uestlove's influence might have swung it for me here. Is it that different from the original?

05. Sa-Ra - Death Of A Star

Catchy and quite funky but strays into an R&B style which I can't really stomach.

06. Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band - Casino (Zoot Woman Remix)

I really like Ralph Myerz's stuff I've got the first album. I don't suppose you know if the latest one was any good?

07. Metro Area - Wafer

I've got the first Metro Area album but I don't recognise this - Did you get it off Metro Area 2?

08. RIP SLYME - Night Flight

I quite like the synth-y stabs in this but that's about it.

09. Sylvester - Trouble In Paradise

This sounds like the theme tune to some generic 80s movie. I quite enjoyed it!

10. Sophie Ellis-Bextor - If You Go

I dunno about this I can't deny she's got a good voice but it's not really my cup of tea.

A good showing this month as ever Jimmy's CD has got a nice flow to it. There's a couple of weaker tracks but I still like listening to the whole thing in one sitting as it's over in a nice time.

Mine's finally gone out. Really sorry about the delay, 's not like me at all

(Incidentally, I've not received a CD yet. Obviously in no position to complain, I'm just worried that I mightn't be getting one at all!)

Tracklist for bph :

Kenny Larkin - Hello

Legofeet - Keyop

Fuse - Dimension Intrusion

The Black Dog - Squelch

Speedy J - Symmetry

Beaumont Hannant - Toxicity

Boom Bip - Roads Must Roll

Kelpe - Yippee Space Ghost

Rocketmann - Visions Of Utopia

MC1 - Basic

Fujiya & Miyagi - Conductor 71

Gui Boratto - Beautiful Life

Mr Flagio - Take A Chance

Telex - Moscow Discow ( Carl Craig Mix )

The order should have been changed around a touch to flow better, but I ended up rushing it through. During May I kept listening to individual tracks and thought I'll use that for this months CD, then totally forgot about them when I did it!

Not received my CD as yet.

Sorry for the lack of feedback, I have been meaning to do it but haven't had a free hour to sit down and write some comments due to having some relations over. I'll get on it tonight - thanks for the tracklist, I'm suprised by how little I recognise as a couple seemed familiar.

You must ensure that your CD is sent out in time so that the recipient recieves it before the end of the month. If not, you will be added to a late senders list and barred from taking part the following month. If again, at the end of the second month you have still not sent a CD you will be banned from taking part in any CD Mix Clubs. Leeway will

be given when sending to participants abroad. Exceptions will apply.

I don't want to be stirring shit but there seem to be a lot of late cd's arriving recently. I know there are apologies going round and they do at least seem to get there eventually but I think enforcing this rule more strictly might make sure that people who do enjoy the mix club make the effort to get things done in time so as not to miss out.

Mine arrived today, thanks very much Wiper

I'm going to give it a few listens until I feel sufficiently familiar to give a decent response, so apologies if I don't post any feedback for a few days.

Got mine today, will listen ASAP and feed back.

Mine hasn't gone out, sorry sorry sorry. Soon as I can, it'll get out. I swear it. Don't denounce me yet. Please. I'm sorry. Please.

I can only speak for myself, and clearly am doing so because of a desire to defend myself (I'm a selfish bast, me), but I imagine that this being finals month for many of us was an issue (in my case, made worse by the mix I'd worked on in advance falling to pieces). I'm not getting lazy, honest!

Not a problem - I sent it off far too late, I can hardly expect immediate feedback!

Received a nicely presented CD, with a cover and colourful sunflower printed CD.

01 Opening track fades in, and it's ok. Not really anything I would rush out to buy, but it's pleasent enough. With the male vocalist singing, "bah-ba", over and over. Whilst an electronic tune plays, with added vodacoder samples.

02 Reggae! Very Bob Marley, but not sure if it's him or not. Anyway this is much better, and makes me want to do a little jig. Excellent.

03 More reggae, with a difference. It's really HARDCORE! Well the intro is all reggae, then it bursts into some guy rapping over a hardcore track. I don't really like the style of the guy's rapping, and would prefer this track to be instrumental. Would go down well in Brixton.

04 NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! A rock instrumental, and I'm going to have to skip this track. Plus it felt a bit out of place, on this mix. Never mind, onto the next...

05 "Ok, let's begin", and we get a typical 50's male talking over trip-hop/sci-fi sounds. Not sure who it is, but this track changes style over it's 5m 35s. It's like a mini-mix, and the guy talks about different lessons. Nice.

06 More hip-hop, and not sure if this is old-skool or not. Still it's a darker than the previous track, and the rapping is much better. Nice beats, especially when it goes instrumental. Definitely one to play nice and loud.

His hoe gets a little rap at the end. Cool track.

07 Another excellent song, with a lovely bass playing thoughout. Making for a nice song to chill to, as a guy sings over the top. Don't know who it is, but this track gets better towards the end, when it all goes Air-like.

08 A Frank Sinatra type singer, who sings over a very cool backing track. Very nice.

09 A hip-hop type instrumental, with a slighty comedy/party style to it. It's alright, not something I would rush to listen to again.

10 Bit depressing this song, in a radiohead type manner but this has a folky-type flute playing in the background. It's ok, but doesn't really do anything for me.

11 Is this Primal Scream, it sure sounds like their front man singing? I like some of their songs, just not this one. It follows on nicely from the last song, and it ends the mix well.

So not a bad mix at all, cheers!

DUH

I want to know what the hardcore reggae track is. Something is making me think it'll be transplants or something.

Feedback for Moodymann, apologies for the lateness:

1) Nice atmospheric opener, not something I could listen to separately but a good intro - although slightly too long. I dig the "Hello"'s that pop up, it sounds slightly like some old-school videogame menu music.

2) Love how funky this is, feels a little slight maybe but a good track.

3) Very relaxed and spacey, although it doesn't seem to go anywhere - I kept thinking it was building up to something that never arrives.

4) This is off the Book of Dogma isn't it? I picked it up the other week, my first exposure to The Black Dog. Amazing track, never sits still throughout and constantly shifts. The mad dirty acid thing is inspired too, especially at about 2.30 when it comes back in and demolishes.

5) Another track that is very atmospheric and lushly textured, but doesn't really go anywhere. Nice to listen to but nothing something I'd rush to hear again.

6) I like the music more than the rapping, which is pretty dreadful. I'd quite like to hear this as an instrumental, reminds me quite a lot of Dalek.

7) I know this one well, Boom Bip. Not one of my favourite tracks of his tbh, it's quite bland. Have you heard his latest EP? It's completely different to his usual style - very 80s electro influenced. Really good :D

8) This I like, reminds me of Air a little but far less relaxed. I dig the glitchiness and the drum machines too.

9) I wasn't sure about this at first but after repeated listens it grew on me, I like the unhurried tempo. I can't place the year but I'm assuming it's contemporary - could easily be from the 80s though.

10) Oh man, this is brilliant :D Extremely cheesy, I'd definitely dance to it if it was played out ;)

11) I knew this one too, Fujiya and Myiagi. I really like this track, they've got the Krautrock thing locked down. Very kinetic, I love how it builds up.

12) Another good one, really good in fact - probably my favourite track on the CD. This feels like a logical last track to me as it ends really nicely.

13) For me, this could have worked better earlier in the mix. Doesn't really fit against the last song although good none the less, especially like the chorus with the weird vocodered/robotic voices.

14) Excellent track, love the synth lines and drums. Doesn't feel like a very convincing final track to me, superb none the less.

Like you mentioned before, it doesn't always flow too well and some of the tracks would work better elsewhere in the mix but an enjoyable CD none the less with a couple of exceptional tracks. Cheers, thanks for the CD.

right - feedback for imp for the first disc...

1. what a nice and strangely hypnotic handclap song, whihch serves as a lovely intro.

2. i like the music on this, but the voice of the guy makes me want to choke him...

3. now THIS is just lovely, so nice and relaxing. i love the sort of twinkle nise throughout.

4. again, another one on repeat! sounds very cassius, or french to me...

5. strange intro but whn the song finally kicks in proper, its ace!!! very bowie like vocals.

6. aaaaargh!!! noise!!! SKIP.

7. this sounds like the music a clown would make if he escaped from a circus. ace!!!

8. nice acoustic track and i really like the melody to this.

9. i really like this, especially the build up.

10. what an odd little song...!!!

as for the other bonus cds, there is definitely some stuff there i really like too.

overall, a great cd and i must admit to not having a clue to who any of them are!!!

tracklist please!!!

;)
