Did you find a better version of that Sylvester track you included, or is it that crackly old one I sent you?

I'll upload the mix tomorrow sometime goldbricker.

Didn't quite fit into the 100MB zShare allowance so you'll have to unpack these two rar files together.

2007-05 idespair.part1.rar

2007-05 idespair.part2.rar

Spangly new one. Ill pass it your way sometime.

Nice one cheers. I had another listen to the crackly one yesterday, it's a cracking little tune.

Feedback for my mystery sender:

1) A nice bouncy samplerific opener! But what was the amazing bit it goes into at 4.51? I’ve no idea what that was, but I like it a lot.

2) I’m loving this too of course, continuing the Mantronix vibe through on the synths, which is very nice, and great vocals. Couldn’t be more up my street.

3) Hah, I love it! I wish this bit went on for five minutes!

4) Awesome. I’m in love with it from the first bar, especially the falling down the stairs percussion. If I have a criticism of this track, it’s that they bring the percussion in at the expense of the beats too often, it doesn’t get the chance to flow as well as it could. It reminds me of a lot of Italian house that I used to buy circa 1991.

5) I’m not struck by this to begin with, as I have an aversion for that particular style of drum pattern – it smacks too much of the sort of remixes that Weatherall , Orbit et al were doing during the same period – set remix controls to automatic and go home. It’s a pity, because I love the rest of it, it’s really nice. A version of this with no drum beat would be perfect. Around the five minute mark you get a sense of how much better it could have been.

6) I’m not feeling this at all to start with. Again, I have a problem with anything that uses a big band style drum pattern for the beats. I love the keyboards though. I’m certainly warming to it as it develops, but then they bring those crappy drums in again, which just makes it sound a bit tired. If it all sounded like it does at 2.12 I’d be all over it.

7) I really like this one, love the crazy little melody and the Knight Rider rhythm. Mmm, lovely. I’m digging them making up the lyrics as it goes on – just fantastic. It makes me think of Ten City, which is obviously a great thing.

 This is so familiar to me, I either own it or it’s the sample doodleoops that I know…how annoying! It’s really nice though. I like a lot.

9) WOOOOOOOOOOOM! Great stuff. Once again, very familiar sounds, although I can’t place it. It’s very like the end bit of Fly Like An Eagle by Steve Miller Band…a lovely end to a lovely cd.

Great stuff, a great cd with a great flow too it, and loads of interesting bits and pieces. I pronounce it a hit! Beautifully packaged, too. Probably my favourite track was number seven, but it’s all good. It’s only my nitpicking that puts me off five and six, too. Thanks a lot, track list now danke!

Excellent, really glad you enjoyed it. Once I had that Moodymann track, I just had to do a funky mix.

01 Mantronix - King Of The Beats

02 Jamie Lidell - A Little Bit More (Luke Vibert Mix)

03 KDKA Radio Jingle - Whether We're on the Moon or Just Brightening Your Afternoon

04 Moodymann - Technology Stole My Vinyle

05 Global Communication - Funk In The Fridge

06 Herbert - Rude

07 Whirlpool Productions - From Disco To Disco

08 Jedi Knights - Solina (The Ascension)

09 Jedi Knights - Afterlife

Cheers.

Right, mine's off on its little adventure. I had great fun this month digging up some stuff I haven't listened to for a while. I've been on a big blues bender of late (as last month's CD demonstrated) so I avoided all that and got some electronics back in play. After I'd gone through iTunes for a while flagging candidates I had to trim off two hours of audio to fit it on the CD. It was tragic, I wanted to cram it all on there somehow. I did consider simply playing everything at a much higher speed, but fortunately I didn't really have the time to set that up.

Mr Heath can expect my CD on Wednesday; it was finished before the weekend but it's now been completely reworked bar one track.

I'm happy with it now

I should have some feedback for the beginning of next week; I want to listen to it thoroughly first.

I have a draft of mine now so I'll listen to it on the way to Lakeside *shudder*. I want to get this one right...more right than usual I mean...

I sent my CD off a week and a half ago, though I've not had any feedback yet. Was it that unpleasant? Track listing available upon request.

You may need to PM your recipient, they might not of received it. Just a thought.

Mine's done, but I haven't burned or sent it yet - my exam's tomorrow, so once that's done I should be free to sort this all out. So... I'll send Thursday, hopefully.

Mine is bundled up - but I think I've targetted it wrong cos I forgot about the change pm! Nevermind...

Can I have a tracklist from my sender please? We listened to it over the weekend and general impressions were that it starts strongly and fades away a bit although there were some great tunes. Mrs Farley rated it as 6 which is her highest mark to date. Excellent start as well, the irony is that we were on the way to Lakeside as the first track kicked in! Anyway, can you let me have a tracklist and I'll give you some more detailed notes. Thanks.

oh, really?

;)

'tis me!!!

would you like a tracklisting???

:)

It was you. I was trying to figure out who it might've been too.

I'll post some proper feedback sometime over the weekend so save the tracklisting until then. A couple of duffers later on, but generally, it's right up my street.

Just popped mine in the post to Mr Do. It turned out to be quite a different animal to the mix I set out to put together; not quite as summery, due to the lack of sunshine I guess.

I haven't put a compilation together since I was 15 (15 years ago) so I struggled to make it flow, so apologies in advance Mr Do if some of the tracks don't sit too well against each other.
