10 second delay on grenades at the start of the game

No aiming assit for sniping

Drop the shitty perks and add a few more

Fix the UAV bug

Prestige perks.

1. Maybe a good idea but people don't generally like restriction, maybe they should find another way of combating spawn-nading. After all it doesn't happen in every online FPS so there must be another way of doing it.

2. Never noticed there was any?

3. Which are you referring to?

4. That the one where you press start and see the entire map?

5. That would unbalance things for non-prestige players, and a lot of people don't like upgrading because they lose their gear.

1. Yeah the problem with it is that MW doesn't have many ceilings making grenade spaming easy.

2. Yeah ACOG especially and it is amplified with the steady aim perk, which enables the no scoping shit.

3. For me I would tailor the frags to 2. Get rid of Martydom and last stand. Thats about it off hand. I am sure there are more.

4. Basically it will give you them one after another from three kills. Then maybe some airstikes maybe not, maybe a heli. But it happens the most with UaV's. At times I have had and used 3-4 in a row. I assume its a lag related issue, not registering you kill count.

5. I don't think that is really an argument. You could then negate the whole upgrade process as it isn't fair for the people on level 2.

1. True, but so do a lot of maps for other online FPS. You know that's never going to happen anyway...

2. Ah, didn't realise you were referring to the ACOG scope, certainly had snap aim that's for sure. I liked the steady aim perk though, meant I could run around with an M21 and fire it from the hip and actually stand a chance against someone with an assault rifle.

5. Not really, when you consider a lot of people don't like Prestige and don't want to upgrade.

I've never found grenade spamming from the start of a game to be much of an issue (unlike Downfall on WaW). On any map where you can get grenaded running from the spawn towards the enemy (Ambush, for example), you can easily hold your run or move somewhere safe for a few seconds whilst the grenades come in.

During a game is a slightly different matter though. Wetwork is prime for grenade spamming during a game. I'd rather reduce the 3x frag to 2x to resolve this though.

Other MW2 features I'd like:

Multi-player

MP1. Regional hosting - sick of our team getting 1-2 bar connections as soon as one US player joins the game.

MP2. Improved respawn positions - reduce risk of spawn camping.

MP3. Kick a player out of the game after 3 TKs (like WaW).

MP4. Additional classes after prestiging (like WaW).

MP5. Add some kind of check for modded controllers (say if the firing rate of a single-shot weapon is above a certain amount)?

MP6. If a player goes outside the map (or above/below), then none of their weapons work - should be easy enough to compare player X-Y-Z co-ordinates against the map's boundaries.

MP7. 4-player split screen.

MP8. Variable weather and time-of-day effects (wind, rain, dawn, dusk) - can impact sightlines (attacking from behind the rising sun) or smoke.

MP9. Ability to pick up small objects and throw them for a distraction.

Single Player

SP1. Single player online co-op.

SP2. Possibly some other difficulty mechanism instead of respawning enemies.

Frankly, they could make MW2 the same as MW but with 15 new maps and I'd buy it in a shot.

Defo agree with MP1 and MP6. This UAV bug.. I've never come accross it and I've been playing off and on since the beta. As for nade spamming at launch; just don't run in like a bunch if sheep (especially on Crash).

I agree with all off your multiplayer apart from the 4 player split screen. You are joking right ? Have you ever played just normal 4 player split screen? It looks terrible and the game only runs at about 70%. It has to have massive auto aim to compensate. The game really does not need it nor can it handle it. The time they spent trying to sort it could be spent on many other great things.

I really hope they do not put vehicles in.

The grenade spaming isn't a case of running in like sheep, it's annoying as the exits from certain locations are gaurented to get hit, so you have to wait it out. That waiting out time give the other team a chance to get positional advantage. It pisses me off. In fairness I am not a fan of grenades on any MP game as I think they detract from the game.

Grenade 'spamming' is a tactic. Just like any other tactic, you can not only use it yourself, you can obviously avoid it. I haven't been caught out like that since way back in the begining.

3x frag should be 2x frag though, it's a massively overpowered Perk.

Yeah me neither, I just dislike it that it is used as one. It relates mainly to my lack of like for grenades in all FPS's but I still find it trite in CoD.

Did anyone ever notice in COD4 that after a certain amount of time playing an MP game, sides would be switched and the enemy would then spawn at your end? That pissed me off.

That's spawn-switching. It happens when your team pushes too far into enemy territory. The game switches spawns so they appear where you originally started.

Sometimes, if you can anticipate it correctly, you can use the spawn switch to your advantage and take out a few players when they rush past you.

But on some maps, it can break, so everyone spawns in the same area. This happens on Wet Work a fair bit.

You can normally tell when it's going to kick in though.... I normally bugger off on my own when it gets too quiet. Just had a great Merc TD on Creek. Was using the default bolt action sniper rifle and got 18 kills and no deaths :( though I think I could have got more but ran out of ammo and then hid to get the "survive an entire match" challenge.

Lol, I remember when I got that challenge, I was bricking it hiding.

I posted about this earlier in the thread. It really gets to me. Shouldn't be too far back if you fancy a look, but I thought most people disagreed with me.

Me aswell, I have posted about the spawning before and been shot down. I think its the major failing of CoD.

Thing is, if you're playing a match against a team that are pretty good (and lots are) chances of getting your entire team spawning in a corner to take 5 steps and die is quite high. Spawning elsewhere just means the game's less tedious for the losing team. I've lost count of the amount of times I've spawned only to instantly die again, it really kills the enjoyment when you're punished just for pressing X to play.

The spawning on CoD4 is half decent when it pops your mates next to you, but when it throws you smack in the middle of a firefight it's just annoying.

This is the argument for it. Some games it works really well and the games flow around the map. But it's the ones where they don't where it is really frustrating.

Yeah, it seems to work and then not work though I've no idea how to get around it as when playing, pinning a team down is entirely because you're good and to have them spawn behind and shoot you up the arse is fucking annoying.

If it was an arena game like Quake3 or something there's be little problem.

They only spawn behind you if you push too far into their spawn. its to give them a fair chance and is on the whole fairly well handled. Spawn killing is the domain of the prick

Yeah, we've held people in the corner of Bog, Strike or Ambush for the entire match many a time, purely by keeping a little distance from said corner. It's a pretty horrible thing to be on the receiving end of.

  • 2 weeks later...

M21

USP w/ Silencer

Frag x3 (used in conjunction with USP for close quarters)

Bullet Damage

Deep Impact

Had them running scared. One enemy sniper put up a bit of a fight, taking me out 4 times with a Dragunov. He soon lost his balls though. The other 4 times were when they got their shit together and sent a few guys after me, but even that stopped after I managed to beat them back a few times. My Airstrikes and Choppers counted for a great deal, but a lot was down to them panicking when pinned down and just taking the same routes I had clear lines of fire on.

We won 250-0, such was the effectiveness of aforementioned disruption tactics.

:)

Only just started playing this last week - so sorry if this is a tragically old/basis/stupid question.

Does Aim Assist work in multiplayer? I turned it off because I assumed it was SP only as a nanny-aid for thumbfisted clownboats (like it was in the original Half-Life)

Reading the last few pages of this lead me to believe it is in MP too?! If so, that is massively shit. That said, are there any downsides to using it if? If not, I am assuming that every fucker uses it and that I should be too - I don't think I need further handicaps at this stage of the games lifecycle.
