The gunfights were decent (if ridiculous) but the rest of the film was just cobbled together from superious sources - 1984, Metropolis, The Matrix, Farenheit 451, etc - without really adding anything new.

Bale's son was a creepy little shit.

Shame the action bits only add up to 2:45 minutes.

I think I'd have preferred if it was one bullet per target - it just looks like he's showing off when he sticks 3 or 4 in the chest of each guy, alternating targets. Probably perfectly valid in a game, though, bit like Crisis Zone or something where it pays to keep everyone on their toes with a liberal spray of lead.

Some of its action scenes are fun (the "jump to fight" feature on the DVD is nice!), but there's some really obvious undercranking in the scene where he's sparring with the wooden swords. Still, its visuals are very impressive considering its budget.

Mindless, Matrix-meets-1984-with-a-happy-ending shite.

I saw the back 60 mins of I, Robot last night. Featuring a fit young Susan Calvin, a dead Alfred Lanning and robots that, yeah, actually do want to turn on and enslave their creators. Fuck off.
