Liverpool Football Club

Be interesting to see the same diagrams, but with comparison between first and second halves, because it may be the first halves against Sunderland and Arsenal were more weighted to the left, but in the second halves as we probed for a winner (which we got Vs Arsenal, but not Sunderland) we varied our approach play.

Agree about him offering something we've been missing for a long while though. The diagram Vs Bolton is like Steve McManaman never went away.

Also, our corners are a hell of a lot better. As others have said, hopefully Gerrard's return will see him in the box receiving corners rather than taking them.

Can't wait for our trip to Stoke, international weeks are so balls.

This thread has been shit for absolutely ages. Let's all try to get it back to what it was in the good old days. People used to come in here and actually talk football. These days there's much less activity, and a lot of what little there is, is best ignored. I used to log-in to this forum specifically to check if there were any new posts in this thread. Maybe it's just me, and if it is I'll apologise and piss off, but I really feel like we had a sound bunch of regular posters in here once upon a time. And we had loads of opinions and ideas bouncing off each other. Most of the guys whose posts I used to keep an eye out for have seemingly left, or just stopped posting. Whether they come back or not, it'd be nice if we could get back to having some proper discussions about the club in here again. :blah:

It is a shame, and yeah, I'm as guilty as the rest. I suppose there was obviously more discussion during the darker days since there was more pondering as to where we could go to make things right again. Now we're heading in the right direction, there's little to ask for? Still plenty of room for discussion I suppose, but that is also blighted by the trolls who CAN'T STOP FUCKING POSTING. It ruins the flow of the thread utterly, regardless of whether or not the ignore function is employed. There's not loads of discussion in the main football thread for that reason either.

I welcome the likes of Chooch, Nayson or Daley popping in (if ever) and giving their viewpoints since they're not terrible reactionaries/shit posters. They might get negged a little, but it's nothing massive. It's discussion. It's actually interesting.

On the issue of trolls/trips I had reported posts/tried to get the mods to help yet they seemingly don't care.

Speaking of Man U trolls here's Neville accusing Liverpool of throwing a game vs Chelsea in 09/10 to help them win the title.

You've got the awareness of Milan Baros playing up front on his own.

Anyway, thank fuck the internationals are over and proper footy is back this weekend. Bit of a pisser we're a 3pm kick off away, another LOF job. Can see us starting Dirk and Suarez, with Carroll and Bellamy on the bench. Might start Spearing just to harry Stoke's midfield and have Lucas and Adam in alongside. Hope Kelly's fit because I don't really want to see Flanagan trying to stop those crosses coming in.

There's an irony there that you seem more than happy to keep behaving like a child; as you've proved with that post yet again.

You're always negative and deciding to have a go instead of being cordial.

Why?

Because you have a really bad habit of trolling yourself? I mean I'm not expecting you to be serious but you take the piss when it comes to the football threads, you don't even stop to think about the links you post or comments you make.

I've been given a ticket to the Stoke game! My first ever away game :D

Going to places like Liverpool and Manchester always drives home just how small Stoke actually is. And theres not really a lot right next to the Stadium since we moved to the Britt. But the stadiums nice and if you a coming by train its not far to walk it (about 15 mins if you go the quickest route, which is along the canal if I remember rightly). It'll be a buzzing atmosphere there, partly because its Liverpool, but also because its Crouchys big debut. I fully expect you to beat us this time though, I think both in term of squad and mentality you're much better than any of our previous meetings. Enjoy your visit anyway!

Although I've now found out why a Liverpool fan gave away his tickets. We're in with the Stoke fans

Provisional squad: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Enrique, Adam, Lucas, Henderson, Downing, Kuyt, Suarez, Doni, Skrtel, Robinson, Flanagan, Shelvey, Spearing, Rodriguez, Bellamy, Carroll.

Amazing what a difference a year makes. I'd be happy to see any combination of them in the starting 11.

Our '2nd' 11 (on current form):

Doni

Flanagan Coates Skrtel Robinson

Johnson Shelvey Spearing Maxi

Bellamy Carroll

That'd still do a job in most games.
