Would be a shame to see Ngog go, but we need a reliable centreback with question marks over the long-term fitness of Agger and Carragher.

Anyway, so we can look back next May and marvel at the more prescient members of the thread, what are everyone's predictions for our season? Think 5th and a cup final, with Carroll our top scorer and Downing our player of the season.

Season predictions: We'll just about scrape 4th and do well in the FA Cup. I have a feeling we'll be one of the best attacking sides in the league too, as long as the main players stay fit.

Tomorrow's team predictions:

If Suarez and Johnson are fit...

Johnson---Carra---Agger---Aurelio

---------Lucas-----Adam

Kuyt---------Suarez------Downing

------------Carroll

If not, swap for Kelly and Aquilani.

You guys probably don't care much, but you are coming down to little old Exeter for the Carling Cup! Get in! Can't wait :)

I would expect we'll be playing those who don't make it into the starting 11 for the first couple of matches. Should be an interesting one.

Also, if we do end up selling Ngog we really need another striker for backup, otherwise we'll end up having very few attacking options on the bench. Again.

Good draw, and here's to a good old fashioned ding-dong tie, with Sterling bagging a winner in extra time.

Seeing your avatar reminds me when I used to play as Exeter on SWOS, was always more fun going through the divisions and building a dynasty.

Officially official - our new number 3:

Jose Enrique admits signing for Liverpool is one of the 'happiest days' of his life - and has immediately set his sights on helping bring silverware back to Anfield.

The Spain full-back completed his transfer from Newcastle United on Friday to become the Reds' fifth major signing of a busy summer.

just a central defender to go then! :)

I was looking at our squad this morning, wrote them all down and attempted to put a first 11 together. With the midfielders we have, its almost impossible. Everyway you look at it, we will be leaving top players out of the team or on the bench. Its great for us, but I just hope we don't have a season of disgruntled bench warmers! If we can keep the all happy (and maybe get rid of Cole and Poulsen), I reckon we are in for a great season.

Top 4 finish I reckon and maybe some silverware.

I'm gonna try and go to the Exeter game as well as I only live just over an hour away. Any ideas on how to go about getting away tickets?

Possibly not:

Could Jose be the final bit of incoming business this summer?

You can never say never, but it is likely.

And are there likely to be any departures?

Yes, it is possible. As I've said before, some players would like to have more minutes and game time. We've had a few approaches for players, so it's something we will look at.

didn't he say exactly the same things after the Adam transfer too?

Not really. After Adam:

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a lot of players. This is our second signing. How happy are you with how things are going in this transfer window?

We are very pleased because the two signings we've done were absolute priorities on our list. When you go into a transfer window you always have X number of targets, and it's very rare you get all of them. We're lucky we've got two of our priorities. That's good, and I'm sure there'll still be a lot of movement, especially going out but also, hopefully, a few more coming in.

After Downing:

Is there still work to be done, though?

It's difficult to say. I'm sure there will be players going out because some players would like to play more and have more minutes. We will probably have a few loans as well, players who we would like them to develop, into the Championship or the leagues abroad. In terms of players coming in, it's difficult to say. I think we are going to sit down, look at the situation, see where we are, see who might leave and then we will reassess later. But we have done most of what we wanted to do.

Even then he left it a bit more open.

true, even though i'd like to see more signings too many can do more harm than good, more new players the more time it will take before the squad forms an undertsanding. I'm very very happy with the transfer buisness this summer and all the glaring holes have been fixed. A centre back, another striker and winger would be nice but i think we can can make do with what we have in those positions for now unless someone leaves before the deadline. Its the best summer of tranfer buisness i've ever seen from the club and for the first time in a long while i can see quality and depth beyond the first eleven. Its looking like a bright season ahead, top four is definity a huge possibility and maybe just maybe the team can become outsiders for the title, because the quality is there.

If I had the money, I'd love to go. It's a bit of a trek for midweek (weekend obviously be better) but should be decent, I know a lot are looking forward to finally getting to go somewhere new.

I'm expecting you to sell out the away end - it's standing and very small! The fans that do come down might get quite a shock when they see the facilities. The away end toilets are about the worst I have ever seen! :D
