Obsessing over transfer fees is unhealthy. Some players you get for a bargain, some you overpay. What's important is how they play and what they bring to the squad. Ask anyone about Malouda's transfer fee in his first season at Chelsea and they'd tell you he was a flop. Ask them about the subsequent two seasons and they'll say he was a bargain. Now? "It was about right".

No one cares what the fees are if you're winning. And that's what it boils down to.

Might have been a bit premature on this. It's going to happen, but maybe not today.

I'm sure both sets of fans want this whole saga done with now.

No surprise, it's been on/off for ages. I'm sure it was said to be DONE last week. Just gonna wait. Blackpool sort it out, stop messing about. Poor.

Liverpool Football Club today announced they have reached agreement with Blackpool for the transfer of Charlie Adam.

The player will now travel to Merseyside for a medical and to discuss personal terms.

Finally!

Right, next...

He owes Blackpool a lot too. He was going nowhere fast at Rangers.

I do think he recognises that. Throughout all of this saga, he's pretty much kept his mouth shut and shown Blackpool some respect. Yes he handed in a transfer request in January, but how many players attracting attention from Liverpool while at a club our size, on our wages, wouldn't? He still showed he cared about the club and he will leave with people's best wishes.

Having a medical this afternoon I hear from a decent source.

Some loans in return would be best outcome for us, as our chairman is reluctant to spend any money to bring players in it seems.

Great early shout on this. In before all the supposed 'ITK' journos. :hat:

I really hope Adam works out well for us, £9m isn't bad going either. I'm personally not against Meireles going, I thought he blew hot and cold last season (under both Hodgson and Dalglish), is on large wages and if we could get some decent cash for him and use that on say, Mata, it would be excellent business.

I have no idea how our midfield is going to line up but its great to see we are still splashing the cash. I'm very interested in Mata coming but I doubt it will happen. If we had the spanish influence of a couple of seasons ago, maybe.

Well here it is - LFC v3.0!

So Rafa isn't going to Madrid anytime soon thank God.

...

The old (v2) Liverpool thread that was irreversibly merged with a Manc one.

Can we get this first post update with something other than nothing.

Current squad, rumours, etc!

If you need to know what the current squad is, you're an idiot.

If you want to look at rumours, there are plenty of other sites.
