We'll not get him unfortunately.

I've saw him play and I have to say he's worth the hype. I've no idea why Barcelona aren't breaking down the door for him. He'd be excellent in their front three.

Probably because they're a bit skint and don't really need him. I have no idea why they'd pay £25m+ for Hazard, Sanchez or any other forward in their financial state. It'd just be spending big for the sake of keeping up with the Joneses, and last time they did that to match Real's splurge, they got Ibrahimovic...

If they have any sense they'll buy a centre back and a left back and leave it at that. They already have perfectly good reserve forwards in Bojan, Jeffren and Affelay.

A thing that will probably count against you is CL football - Hazard has it next season if he stays put so I can't see him giving that up.

According to Arseblog we opened talks over him last week but I suspect we'd only make a serious offer if a truck load of Catalan money was on its way. Otherwise I think we'll maybe get Gervinho and Lille will try and keep Hazard for another year.

Not turning this in the Barcelona thread. They been lucky a bit that they haven't had many injuries to their forward lines. Bojan hasn't really developed after his first season, so a loan move would benefit him. Before the Man Utd game, Villa went about 16 games without a goal. Just didn't think he fitted in as I thought he might have. Obviously he played on the left, which didn't help. But he also played on the left at the world cup last year, before Torres was eventually dropped and he looked fantastic. So I think they could do with somebody like Rossi.

And to be fair, they didn't spend big on Ibrahimovic for the sake of it. They needed a top class striker to replace Eto'o, Villa wasn't leaving Valencia at the time, and Ibrahimovic was the likely target.

Bojan is only 20...

Yeah, but he made his debut when he was 17. And hasn't really done anything of note in those three years, despite his team winning everything. And has been outshone by Pedro. He didn't even start for Spain on Sunday, which suggests he hasn't really progressed. Because usually you'd expect him to start for the U21 atleast.

He needs first team football regularly, and somewhere like Villarreal on loan would be perfect for him.

I like how you always have to swear though, because you're simple.

Why does this have to descend into abuse? Is that all your kind are capable of?

"All your kind"? Bit racialist isn't it Dripp? ;)

Amazing that he's allowed to continue to post here with impunity. Calling dogsout, one of the most knowledgeable, standout posters around "simple" is absolute idiocy of the highest order.

RobinTripp is just a troll, that's why you just ignore him or move on quickly.

He's not. I've asked the mods. Apparently it's not trolling and he's fine to continue. Play on, SirTripp!

I still find it laugable that Disciple, one of the worst trolls this forum ever produced, is the one that repeatedly slings trolling accusations at Robin Tripp (who is, let's face it, a troll in a very similar mould.)

I did not say he's not a troll, anyway, Disciple. As you're too simple to understand it, what I said was it's not warnable content. If I was warning and banning people for writing deliberately contentious posts simply to spark an argument, you;d have been out years ago, along with 20% of the forum.

That's massively harsh on Bojan, he has a decent enough scoring record for Barcelona, given that his appearances are mostly from the bench. He's been behind Ibrahimovic and Villa in the pecking order for his preferred central striking position, he's not a wide forward in the same way that Pedro or Messi play as. And losing out in comparison to Pedro is no shame, given that he's an outstanding player in his own right that would start for just about any team on the planet.

Takes a wolf to catch a wolf! Ya dig?

Well I agree with that. Warn them and ban them! That will calm them down. A much better idea IMO.

However you've underlined my point; you say he's a troll. And he trolls in here. And you decide to not bother doing anything about it, even a quiet word or two? And then you complain there's fall out from it (this post, you discussing it in the thread - derailing it and causing more posts to spew forth).

Genius.

What's this about Maxi then? Rumours he's off back to Argey!

Be sorry if he goes.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13777390.stm

Liverpool winger Maxi Rodriguez could be on his way back to his boyhood club Newell's Old Boys in Argentina.

Rodriguez revealed he had said yes in principle to a move back home.

The 30-year-old came through the youth set-up to play three first-team seasons for the Rosario-based side before moving to Espanyol in 2002.

"The president [William Lorenzo] called me and I said yes. It depends on the contract I have in Liverpool, maybe that can be loosened a little."

Despite a successful end to last season's campaign with Liverpool, when he scored two hat-tricks as he hit seven goals in three matches, Rodriguez is likely to be only a fringe player next season if he stays.

seen twitter is alight with new 3rd kit with blue on it uproar

as ever its twitter so pinch of salt

Reading around, it's fair to say it's polarising opinion. Don't mind it, we started in blue and white so maybe it's a loving tribute to the boys of 1892?

Or Adidas' cheeky farewell before we ditch them for Warrior.

So that's our official 3rd kit. I don't like the blue at all, it just ain't Liverpool. It looks l too much like it could be a Everton/Chelsea/City away kit. I've seen a photoshop where all the blue was turned red an it looked so much better. Hell even green would have been better.

Adam, Downing, Mata and Marveaux plus Gerrard, Henderson, Maxi, Lucas, Spearing, Meireles, Shelvey, Cole, Poulson and Aqualani

Midfield overload or what. Although I fully expect Cole, Polson and Maxi to go and possibly Aqualani and Meireles. Also read Shelvey could go out on loan. I have a feeling that If he does, he won't make it back into the LFC first team and be sold next season.

Would be disappointed if Shelvey was binned off as he was given a few chances last season and looked decent when he featured.

Be interesting to see which younger lads will be promoted to our final 25 next season. Might be too soon for Sterling but Conor Coady is highly-rated and we could do with a younger forward gaining experience (although Wickham might still fill that void).

Checked and the squad of 25 has to include eight homegrown players.

Also (from www.premierleague.com):

Clubs will be able to supplement their squads with unlimited additional players under the age of 21 on 1st January in the year in which the season commences.

Changes to the squad list of 25 may be made during the period of a transfer window.

So that means that even if Coady et al aren't named in the final 25, they can still be promoted as they fall under the 21 age limit or if we are hit with any long-term injuries they can get called up in January. Shame we don't have the Europa League to blood a few more youngsters but if Dalglish's first six months are any indication the old mantra of 'if you're good enough, you're old enough' definitely applies so a few of the Academy lads should be feeling confident they're not too far away from the first team squad.

Rumours are Marveaux failed his medical

Sylvain? Thought it was Marin, we were meant to be after.

Anyone else a touch worried that we are throwing money around like there is no tomorrow (compared to yesteryear). After all, I thought Kenny would be the one promoting local talent and develop our regional scouting, which (imo) is poor vis-a-vis the likes of Everton, United and even Tranmere.
