i find it sad how a once great player has lost so much ambition that he's willing to spend the rest of his career picking up medals just for keeping a seat warm. He was talking about wanting to play for England again to the media recently yet he must know that he won't get that chance staying at United. personally i'd like to see him have one last hurrah at a mid table or relegation fighting club. But seeing as he recently he mentioned he'd rather be a bit part player in a good squad than playing regularly in a rubbish squad it kind of revealed a lot about his character (as well as being an obvious jibe at Newcastle, who he should show more for as they paid him handsomely for keeping the physio busy during his stint there)

I wonder what is the opinion on Daglish's tactic of buying the best of the young British talent. I wouldn't mind seeing the England squad with a LIverpool spine once again. I can't recall seeing him play even once this season, so I have absolutely no idea what to think about this deal. But I do wonder if we've managed to palm off some of our deadwood on them, or if it's just a straight cash deal. I've read that it's £16m rising to £20m, but it'd be lovely if Poulsen and chums were making up some of that initial £16m.
