From t'other thread:

Mascherano was just brilliant on Sky 'Liverpool fans may be a bit sad with the way I left them' date=' but this is for them too.'[/quote']

Apparently elsewhere it's reported that Jovanovic is on £120,000 a week.

Well done Hodgeson!

Owen....

i find it sad how a once great player has lost so much ambition that he's willing to spend the rest of his career picking up medals just for keeping a seat warm. He was talking about wanting to play for England again to the media recently yet he must know that he won't get that chance staying at United. personally i'd like to see him have one last hurrah at a mid table or relegation fighting club. But seeing as he recently he mentioned he'd rather be a bit part player in a good squad than playing regularly in a rubbish squad it kind of revealed a lot about his character (as well as being an obvious jibe at Newcastle, who he should show more for as they paid him handsomely for keeping the physio busy during his stint there)

A sad end to the career of Owen i say

the papers are saying that we are in negotiations with Sundeland for Henderson. A good buy if it happens. I wonder what is the opinion on Daglish's tactic of buying the best of the young British talent. I wouldn't mind seeing the England squad with a LIverpool spine once again. Although the tactic didn't work for spurs a few years back although O Neil's Villa did very well with it. If the rights players come in and we can sucessfully blend in young britsh players with some foreign flair then i'm all for it.

I don't care about a player's nationality, they could come from Mars for all I care. They just have to be good players with the right attitude. Remember our side in the mid 90s were mainly British and that went well, didn't it?

LOL, you think he'd be able to play regularly for a whole season? He'd manage to get himself crippled before August was over.

Geordies were idiots for calling him a 'greedy bastard'. He took a pay cut to leave them and their messiah left him on the bench while they were struggling with a relegation battle anyway

don't remind me of the spice boys. Quality players who would have done much better if we had a management team that didn't allow them to get away with shit. Plus we complimented them with some dreadful foreign players

N'Zogbia is being quoted as a £15m target in the papers today. I wouldn't mind him although £15m might bee a bit too much

You can just imagine him telling his grandchildren how he won a league medal playing something like 12 times, scoring maybe 2. I can't believe he'd be proud of that. Perhaps he doesnt care.

I'm not sure about Henderson, I haven't seen him play much, but The Times is saying Sunderland might be holding out for £18m! Sure is a lot of money. It also said we were in the hunt for Connor Wickham for around £8-10m - again, a lot of money.

The policy is just to buy young (under age 26) by the way, not the best British talent in particular.

Owen has proven that he cares; about himself. That's about the measure of it. Whoever he fucks over on the way it doesn't matter.

He trumped out that nonsense again on twitter recently of "I didn't get 2 medals for scoring 2 against Arsenal in the FA Cup final" - indicating he'll somehow deserves the Premiership medal as payment for that instead.

Nice to see he believes he entirely, 100%, won the thing on his own; fuck all his other team mates he scores the goals.

All about Owen.

That should balance out their value for money on signings after getting Van der Vaart for a bargain £8m last summer.

£3m seems a little small doesn't it? he's worth at least double. And knowing our luck he'll be awesome for spurs next season. Probably will score against us in a decisive game for 4th

I wouldn't welcome N'Zogbia, he's a huffy, arrogant bastard and no matter what club he's been at, has always been trying to engineer a move away

He should join a Manchester club, he'd fit right in.

If Nzogbias fee was closer to the £8 million figure being thrown about yesterday rather than the £15million mark I wouldn't mind Liverpool making a move for him. He's obviously a talented player even if he is temperamental.

Fucking Jordan Henderson for £20m, whaaaaaaaaaaaa

Yes that's actually happening.

I trust Kenny, Danny and Henry though.

I can't recall seeing him play even once this season, so I have absolutely no idea what to think about this deal. But I do wonder if we've managed to palm off some of our deadwood on them, or if it's just a straight cash deal. I've read that it's £16m rising to £20m, but it'd be lovely if Poulsen and chums were making up some of that initial £16m.

It's a much more exciting summer when it looks like we'll actually be buying decent players. And I'm guessing not everything will have been leaked to the press, so we might have a few surprises.

Kenny is clearly looking for a home-based core of young players.

I think I'd prefer we take that risk with the bucks on that rather than buying in your Aquilanis, or past their best players like Keane.

I've got an Irish friend who's a massive, massive Robbie Keane fan and yet when he came to Liverpool he said it was a rubbish signing. He was bang on.

How nice to have a summer being more worried about the players that will arrive than the players that will depart.

Also nice to have pretty much radio silence from the club again. Hopefully we'll quietly go about our business early in the window, and then get down to a productive pre-season.
