We've not really done much sine the goal bar the Spearing shot and Lucas header. It's been all Newcastle the last 20mins. Hope we sort it out a bit at half time and score a couple more 2nd half for the win.

*edit*

It's half time and Suarez and Collachini(sp?) just swapped shirts for some reason. How odd.

What did Rafa and Paco Ayestaran fall out about? I'm reading Brian Reade's "Epic Swindle" about the H&G years. It's written in tabloid-speak, but it's alright I suppose. Anyway, Paco is now on gardening leave but all Rafa says is "He had to go. He betrayed me." What was all that about?

Margin correct; 3-0 better than them! Missed the second half unfortunately but great stuff :D

Suarez could have had a pen in the first half, but didn't, and so deserved one ;)

He's becoming really important to the team as a link man and someone with that bit of skill that can beat opposition players.

In chronological order:

That summer Pako had been touting himself around Europe for a job and nearly went back to either Valencia or Atletico Madrid (can't remember which). This wasn't known at the time but we'd been at the height of our tensions with Chelsea/Mourinho and the Community Shield was bad tempered. Rafa saw Pako laughing and joking with the Chelsea backroom staff and there were rumours that he was giving Mourinho information. Bullshit rumours like but the fact they were plausible was troubling. There were reports that he was going to go to Chelsea and then Rafa heard on the continent that Pako was trying to find a new job without telling him and Rafa felt totally betrayed, because they were best friends as well as colleagues.

He felt their relationship was untenable and so Pako went on gardening leave for the rest of the season.

That's what I remember from the time, anyway.

What could potentially be important...goal difference?

8 goals without reply in our last 2 matches has put us on +15, to Spurs +7.

Fulham is a bit of a tricky fixture as theyve become decent of late; but not beating Spurs at home would be considered a blip now - if Tottenham's form is poor their away form is even worse.

Too much to ask for a West Ham win? :)

West Ham are pretty terrible. It would be a huge surprise should they manage a result at City!

Aye, they'll probably be lucky to get nil.

Be a shame to see West Ham go, always a fun away trip.

Yeah what kind of fucking defeatist attitude is that? Couple of pricks.

Also the logic of not being in Europe helping you get into Europe... Yeah because that's definitely been the pattern hasn't in the EPL, not the same people qualifying for Europe year after year...

If the Europa League was on Sky or the BBC, they'd be bigging it up constantly.

Therein lies the rub. Spurs fan at work has already said to me, 'you're welcome to fifth,' and a Palace fan sang, 'Thursday nights, channel Five'. Palace! Cheeky bastard. It makes me sadface that the once proud UEFA Cup is now derided and mocked like a former great who has become too old, fat and unwanted to be taken seriously.
