Some random rumours going around saying we could be getting sponsored by NASCAR but on the back of our shirts. Potentially £30m a year deal.

Whilst is sounds odd to have 2 sponsors, more money is more money at the end of the day

Played really well. Great hat trick from Rodriguez and nice to see Cole get on the score sheet when he came on.

With Spurs drawing we're now three points behind them and they have a game in hand. They've still to play us, Chelsea and Man City though and all those games are away from home for them. Man City are four points in front having played two less games. Their run in, though, at a glance seems much easier than Spurs'. You know, we may yet nick fifth if Tottenham slip up in their three tough games they have left.

A great result! Fantastic to see a player who's not been starting regularly step up and grab some goals - and because Carroll was injured I hear?

Really looking forward to MOTD :D

I'm really enjoying Suarez's contribution to the team and our style, but I do hope he starts to bang a few more in (I realise he probably has half-a-dozen assists as well as his goals). I don't want him to become another striker we buy that becomes something else (I refer of course to Dirk - who chips in and works like a horse). I'd really like us to have two 15+ league goals a season strikers (I would have gone for 20+ but I'm not sure any team does these days.

Good to see Kenny giving some younger players valuable experience, and I would like to admit to being wrong about Jay Spearing (I couldn't really see what he adds) - he's been really good since he started his run in the side. Must be pushing Kelly for our best youngster this season I think, and that's of great benefit to the club and our future if they continue to improve and put in solid performances.

That said, I am still wary that people start getting too carried away with the last couple of performances and proclaiming it as a demonstration of how good Kenny is. Lest we forget that we still look shaky at times and when we are bad, we are awful.

I'll tell you the best thing though - Kenny smiling. I remember back in '91 and the haunted look he carried; it's so lovely to see him smile and joke again and just clearly loving the opportunity he has been given. That, perhaps as much as his material success with the club, is why he is a legend.

I think it's more a case that Kenny has taken a squad that flirted with relegation to a gnat's chuff of a CL spot. He's got us playing good football with a squad that was demoralised and a fanbase that was fractured. We're either 3rd or 4th in the form table, which without significant strengthening is realistically the best sort of position we could hope for over a season. With a full preseason, transfers that don't make you go  and no dissent or splits in the dressing room, you have to say it looks very promising, no? :)

And Kenny's done a lot more than just sort things out on the pitch.

the players seem to like him too. Benitez's cold approach seemed to alienate those on the fringes of the squad, its a testament to Daglish's man management skills that someone like Maxi is able to come into the team and score a hat trick.

I'm still dreaming of a champs league place, we have to win the last 4 games which include a tricky trip to Villa but if we do we'll certainly finish above Spurs. While Man City have away games to Blackburn, Bolton and Everton and their home match against Spurs. It is possible, don't stop believing.

That'll become the norm then in a few years if Liverpool do it. I hate sponsors on the back of shirts as well. <_<

We'll have kits looking like this soon enough:

And a belated, 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2-3-4, 5-0! Excited by summer, just as long as we hold onto Reina.

Praise also to Kuyt this season please. Yesterday he was involved in three goals; a "knock" to Spearing for his shot that rebounded to Maxi, his own goal, and tireless running to drag Carr across for Maxi's second. Great stuff.

Oh it most certainly does, yeah; I'm looking forward to the summer's transfer activity and it would be nice to have the manager's position confirmed one way or another.

I'm also excited about some of our youth players coming through, too, for the first time in a long while. Whether they make the step up long-term or not, just to see fresh, home-grown players coming through and getting some games - it's good to see.

11 goals and seven assists in the league so far this term. Been a shining light.

He's a great example for the younger lads at the club, and a benchmark for the kind of attitude we need from prospective players.

If we beat Spurs and win the rest, they can't catch us without them suddenly finding goals on a regular basis. Plus they got City yet.

Aye, what an exciting end to the season for us.

It's good to have all the disappointment out of the way for a change and just enjoy the ride :D

ed: Bleh, city just scored.

City result was annoying but the game against Spurs is a must win

Yeh, a draw might have seen us put a little pressure on fourth spot, but it's asking way to much now (it was anyway, but I can dream). In saying that though City are away to Everton and Bolton, not easy...

I shouldn't get carried away, we'll probably lose to Newcastle / Fulham anyway and that'll be the end of it.

transfer window rumours have been doing the rounds lately; Joe Cole being moved on for around £10m is doing the rounds lately with West Ham or Spurs being his suitors. Multiple papers have been saying we've got Charlie Adam in the bag, Downing, and Young seem to be frequently linked to us atm, and today i read a horrifying story linking us to Barton!

You are about 10 points away 4th so hardly within smelling distance of the CL.

Kenny is over achieving with this side whereas Roy underachieved.

There are at least 5 players different between the two sides, so they aren't directly comparable in terms of over/under achieving, there are simply too many differences in the squad.

However, no one with any sense could deny that Kenny has vastly improved the squad's motivation and effort as well as unifying the team. Every single player who has played regularly has given consistently good performances under Kenny, some have regained their lost form from before even Roy was in charge, others have shown a form they were never expected to have.

It's nothing to do with over or under achieving, and everything to do with the capability of the manager. Roy did almost everything wrong, Kenny has done everything right. Roy might work for clubs like Fulham, he didn't have a clue how to run Liverpool. Kenny never had that trouble.
