They allowed it the once but the rules changed to stop it from happening again. The winners take the 4th spot so Everton would have missed out under the new rules.

and with kelly out our defense is decimated. I feel its damage limitation for the rest of the season now. Certainly in the summer a couple of defenders who are not made of glass should be top of the list of priorites
