Chelsea are playing alright. They've had some pretty shot results, then they manage to play a few teams who are either rubbish or hitting poor form themselves.

What they do have is a large enough squad to rotate a bit and the strength in depth helps them. They will sometimes just have enough power to take teams out.

We'll treat him well, players seem to love it out here. Great potential for us as a partner for Holt, may just be the difference to keep us in 2nd place.

As long as he gets a run of games I can see him doing well. He's been on the fringes of the first team, for whatever reason not making it off the subs bench. But he's skillful, got an amazing free kick, and scored some lovely goals for the reserves. And he works hard too, unlike some other attacking players. Can play on the wing, behind the striker and even centre mid. The other week he asked to play for the reserves before flying out for our Europa game to help them out as they had a depleted squad.

Basically, you've got a good'un.

So there's a few reports floating around saying that we may take on a sponsorship name for the stadium with The Adidas Anfield Stadium being the biggest rumor. Personally I think if they offered a substantial amount like £150 to make it worth while we should do it.

Newcastle's stadiums official name is SportsDirect.com @ St. James' Park Stadium but no one ever calls it that, not even the media. So as long as it's not something stupid and the Anfield name is kept, I'm ok with it, cause I know it'll only ever get called Anfield.

Plus it's worked for Arsenal and if it helps toward redeveloping Anfield the better.

I know we've had a rough 18 months or so, but even taking that into consideration I think we'd get more than £150 for the naming rights.

:P

I've got £175 here to call it the Dinobot Stadium, with the stands renamed to Grimlock, Slag, Swoop, and Snarl. The toilets will be known as Sludge.

How the fuck does Roy Hodgson negotiate a contract with that level of compensation? It's not like we were in competition with 5 other top flight clubs for his signature. Or is this just a completely standard contractual issue pushed by the LMA or something?

Yeah his contract needed to be paid. And he left pretty swiftly. So I guess from the boards side they had to pay up.

Still a hangover/fault of the previous regime.

So are we all rooting for Spurs then? If they win the CL (unlikely) and come 5th we should get their Europa spot shouldn't we?

Not really, the Spurs comedy that is currently unfolding and my indifference to the Europa League leave me to enjoy Real smashing the cocky gits back into line.
