That really didn't look like a penalty to me (contact just outside the box); still Mensah really cocked it up it should fall on him. Spearing did well to get onto it. Good finish Kuyt :)

What the fuck is Kevin Phillips on about saying Carol should be finishing that. It's not like Carol can do anything about the defender on the line. He did what he needs to do, broke away from his man and got a good header on target.

Now Phillips is saying it was great defening. Which was it Kevin, you tit.

Then he was saying that Meireles should have finished another chance; where there's a defender on the line too. Ridiculous.

Is Meireles in a more contained role today; Gerrard type role? He's not getting beyond the front me/making runs half as much.

Meireles is playing out wide, which is where he struggled under Hodgson.

God this ref is awful. Kuyt gets a booking; 5 minutes ago Bramble had a high challenge on Kuyt that was not even mentioned.

Overall it's a win. Sunderland weren't great; and we could have had another couple - Carroll off the line and all that.

Looking forward to hearing Steve Bruce moan about the ref, when last week/week before he was chuckling that the ref got it wrong in his favour. Take that you bastard :)

Who cares how Torres is doing? Apart from Chelsea fans, obviously. Suarez is fucking incredible and he's playing for us now. I think it's already safe to say that all of the people that were comparing him to Kezman should hang their heads in shame now. He is class and if we finally manage to sort out the glaring problems (wingers, left-back) in the summer, then I'll be tipping him to win the PFA PotY award next season.
