I feel like I've lost a moody, high maintenance, beautiful girlfriend, who made you feel she deserved better and you were always walking on eggshells so as not to upset her.

Now I feel I can relax and have a bit of fun.

Now we've got a couple of ugly birds instead. Lots of fun and up for a threesome.

Kiss my face.

Did you see the amound of bodies we were getting in the box tonight? I haven't seen anything like that for like... I don't know! A lot of years.

It's great, isn't it? I'm also loving the new emphasis on passing it out from the back. We're playing some really nice stuff under Kenny already; the difference is there for all to see. It's early days but if Carroll and Suarez click... Nah, I don't want to jinx it. It's just so great having him back.

What formation did we play last night and who where?

I see Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Aurelio and Kelly in the starting 11.

That's 6 defenders?? Add to that Lucas and that's 7 defensively minded players.

I did see Agger bombing forward on MOTD last night so maybe he was playing CDM and Kelly RM?

3-5-2 apparently, Johnson and Kelly as wingbacks. I'm guessing that would push gerrard up as a striker, but probably playing deeper than Kuyt and Lucas/Mereiles/Aurelio across the middle? Thats what I get from the bbc website anyway. Sounds adventurous.

Ok, that answers my question.

“He [Dalglish] is a person who you respect after only a few minutes of conversation,” Suarez told LFC Weekly in his first exclusive interview with the written media since arriving at Anfield.

“He tried to speak to me in Spanish – ‘hola, bienvenido’ (hello and welcome) – the basics and that impressed me. Obviously, he is a legend at this club…in this city, but I think it’s very important to judge people as you see them rather than just what you hear. He has lived up to that legend in my eyes.

“I could see quickly that Dalglish is a manager and a person who I can relate to and he is very determined to make the team play with a certain image – the kind of attractive football that I want to be a part of.

“He was very keen to bring me here and if there is one person that was influential in my signing it was him. He is very ambitious about the club and is confident he can lead the club back to the top. Now I am here, I do not want to disappoint him in any way.”

Playing up front for Liverpool brings a lot of pressure for a young South American – pressure that is added to by the fact he will wear the coveted number seven shirt once worn by his new manager. Suarez is happy to deal with the expectation.

“Ajax made me realise that it’s important to keep a perspective on life and football,” he reflects. “I am aware that the fee Liverpool paid for me was big, but I’m not going to worry about that. There will be a pressure from the outside for me to succeed but every time I set foot on to a football pitch, I want to enjoy it. There is no point being here if I don’t enjoy it.

“Some players can become obsessed with the pressure and trying to deal with it, but I think it is important to be yourself - try your best and believe in yourself.”

Are all you chaps hoping Torres crocks now? Can't wait to see Carroll and Suarez playing together, as well as Torres and Drogba, it's been a while since we saw big changes like that.

meh... torres came, he said the right things - he left and went to chelsea, and said the right things. (for them)

not bothered really, like i saw on twitter we went from having a striker to having a strike force - suarez looks really good and i cant wait to see him & carroll together, i thought the day torres leaves i'd be disappointed, but they managed to soften the blow and make us stronger with the signings made and i actually think we're better off without the sulking little shit of late!

as for carroll's price, dont care. didnt come out of my pocket

I know some of you might have seen this on RAWK and some of you couldn't give two shits what goes on in there but I'm going to post it anyway with the utmost respect.

One of the more esteemed posters, shanklyboy, recently took ill with swine flu that was made complicated by other health issues. He was admitted to intensive care at the Royal and was in an induced coma to help him fight it. Just over an hour ago, he passed away at the age of 52.

I'm posting this because Ray was one of the first people to meet John Henry after the buyout was completed, after helping out with the various initiatives and protests to raise awareness about the ownership issue and the debt on the club. He sat down with him and explained what LFC meant to us and what it was we wanted. You can see the questions and comments elsewhere on RAWK. He was one of the more considered members on there and his posts were usually worth stopping to read. He was a good man and a good Red, someone who played a small part in this year's events but a part nonetheless.

I found a couple of genius posts from myself...ahem

3-5-2 is a well proven formation that has worked at the highest level very often and I'd...oh hang on I'm drunk!

3-5-2 won't work, a sudden switch and our players who struggle with formations they're used to will be even worse. If that's possible.

Does anyone else recall Roy Evans trying 3-5-2 and it being utter trousers?

[caveat that it was 3 at the back, and not 2 up?]

Wayne Bridge to West Ham. Couldn't we have done with him...

Balanced perhaps by...

I was considering Dalglish as a former transfer mogul. He bought Barnes and Beardsley which worked out well, although fell out with Peter I believe, and the Sutton/Shearer partnership was great business. Remember when Sutton was £5m and massively expensive?

He even got good value out of David Speedie, relatively speaking.

Famously he wanted Roy Keane for Blackburn, yet Ferguson trumped him.

Can we expect any/many signings and any good ones this January?

And Ramone is well up for top 4, check the enthusiasm!

I still think top four is attainable.

From the end of December to Feb it's been one hell of a month.

The Wolves game was truly terrible. At home, losing so poorly against a Mick McCarthy team is pretty unforgiveable. Scraping a last minute win against Bolton at home was lucky, then a nice 3-1 hammering away to Blackburn...Hoggle out, Dalglish in, optimism raised, winning games. And no Torres!

I doubt the next few months will be as rollercoastery as the month gone...

Feels like everyone is on the same team now, incredible transformation considering the legacy of infighting. Hope it lasts!

Our squad is still a bit dodgy, bound to have a few disappointing performances before the season is out. Hard to see us getting on Kenny's back whatever happens: worst case is we're still a bit rubbish and he moves upstairs in the summer. (Seems less likely now given his spending),

Sid Lowe's new piece on Torres' departure.

http://bit.ly/hW5K7D

No new info really, but it's pretty much what we've been saying in this thread. The BBC's journo on twitter says Benitez says much the same in his Football Focus interview on Saturday.

And further to the Reina thing: twitter talk says Purslow inserted a buyout clause in his contract. Lets hope he chooses not to use it (especially not for Man U)

Is Sid Lowe a well-respected journo then? cos that reads like sub-tony parsoles tosh.

Reina always seemed the most committed to the cause of the Anfield Spanish Armada, if we make a few big signings in the summer (hoping) then i'm sure the likes of him and Gerrad will be in high spirits.

And after the stink Fergie made when we tried to sign Heinze i hope he doesn't think we'll do him any favours. Surely he wouldn't have the cheek to put in a bid?

I highly doubt we'd go in for him although depending on other targets who knows what might happen. If Reina does leave then I suspect Arsenal might be a more likely destination.
