Well two front men, and yet who's going to be pinging them around/into Carroll. I hope we've got the right tactics or wide men to cope with a formation change...

I don't think we'll change formation again. I think we'll line up for most games like so:

Suarez-------Carroll--------Kuyt

----Lucas---Meireles--Gerrard

Johnson----Agger--Carra----Kelly

--------------Reina

I don't see why we'd change formation again, and I think the fact we've spent all this money without signing any wingers backs up what I'm saying. Kenny and Comoli will have known how Kenny intends to play before going for targets; it would make more sense to buy players to fit the system, rather than see what we end up with and then try to conjure up a system to suit them all.

[edit] Drawing formations isn't the same since the upgrade. :(

you left your Spanish childhood love for me because you felt unfulfilled. You told me that you were happy, that you felt at home with me, you said you could never leave me for another Englishman. Often you were disinterested, moody and petulant but i forgave you and loved you even more when you turned things around. I gave you space and let you leave me for your Spanish friends every summer even though you'd usually return hurt and i had to nurse you back. Even when you cut off your long glowing locks i still couldn't stop loving you. You always had suitors but you said i was the only one you had eyes for. But now you have left me, heart broken and alone holding onto your shirt fighting the tears, remembering the good times we had together.

bye bye Torres :(

I'm excited! Not like Torres had been doing anything this season. Except eyeing up other clubs, of course.

Shame he's gone but can't complain at £50m. Even if it has all gone on two relatively unproven strikers.

If Suarez turns into another Kuyt I won't be impressed! Not that I have anything against Kuyt, but one per team is enough.

EDIT: "And now Benfica have released a statement to the stock exchange confirming the sale of David Luiz to Chelsea for a fee of around £21m plus Nemanja Matic"

That's going to be the way forward I'd imagine. The likes of Oxlade-Chamberlain, Hazard and Lukaku in the summer.

Well it's Lou and Andy at the moment. Hopefully with less comical returns. Loool. (I stole that).

Wasn't Daglish responsible for the awesome Shearer and Sutton partnership? I'm feeling positive!

Come on, top 6 finish!

I'm blaming this one on Ramone. He was the one banging on about how much better we were going to be under Roy and even did a Rafa by guaranteeing us a higher league position with him in charge. When that didn't happen he begged us to give Roy more time and we did. Well, he blew it. Not only did Ramone's man slump us to mid table mediocrity, he also engineered a move where our best player wanted to go play for our rivals.

Thanks Ramone!

He is finally at a big club now... That did tickle me.

I can see a few hard tackles coming in on Sunday.

Surely he's not going to play? I'd imagine Liverpool saw to that, a la the Andy Cole to Man Utd transfer back in the day.

I'd hope he played... Get his new career off to the worst possible start. Small time of us if we asked for him to sit it out.

Yeah as noted the "I'm glad I can now play at a top class club" - Fernando what a thing to say. Chelsea have no class, they're funded by a Russian criminal. You've shown your hand and joined the mercenaries there. You will fit right in :)

Gerrard to break his legs, Reina to "miss" a punch for the ball and hit him in the face or Carra to just run on the pitch and boot him square in the nuts.

Anyway if he scores, wonder if he'll celebrate

Always hated the way he sucked him thumb when he scored anyway.

Just watching the little interview he has on the Chelsea website and it actually feels quite sad. Haven't really felt a bit down about a player leaving since Fowler.

Still, we had 3-and-a-half years from him and he scored some goals that will stay in the memory.

And if he helps to stop Man U from winning the title I'll at least be a bit less sad.

It could be worse I guess; if Roy were still around he'd have probably spunked the £50m on Andy Johnson and Danny Murphy.

"2345: Harry Redknapp confirms to Sky Sports News that Tottenham made a bid - that was accepted - for Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam late in the day, but that the deal fell through because "a couple of Blackpool shareholders" just failed to get the necessary signatures on the paperwork in time. So near. So far. So Tottenham."

the twitching tax evader tried nicking our man!

why the hell does he need another midfielder for anyhow?
