Yeah that one is entirely stupid too.

Would Fabregas now be worth what he was then. Walcott? Who was shit for 2 seasons. RVP too, Mr injury. Wilshere? What's he worth now.

Utterly stupid. You couldn't buy that lot now for £35m could you. Idiotic.

That's the point, surely?

They're likening players who are now looking good/are good - compared to your Warnocks or Hoytes or whoever that have not come on. They were bought at the right time/or when young/a time that when they were available for cheap.

The circumstances are not anything like the Carroll deal.

We brought you the possibility of this back around midday, and I can confirm Daniel Sturridge has now left Chelsea for Bolton on loan until the end of the season.

Big news for Bolton, that, though it's confused the club's website editor by the look of things - news of Daniel Sturridge's arrival is accompanied by a big picture of... Danny Welbeck. Oops.

Racist lot.

Andy Carroll has tonight completed his transfer from Newcastle United to Liverpool FC and signed a 5 and a half-year-deal that will keep him at Anfield until 2016.

The Club agreed a record transfer fee with Newcastle earlier in the day for the transfer of the England international striker.

The deal was subject to the completion of a medical, which the player has now passed.

Andy Carroll will wear the No.9 shirt for Liverpool.

Still time for Torres to change his mind :eyebrows:

Anyway, I think £35m is crazy but I have a good feeling about Carol

Noop. Window closes at 11pm innit. As in, it's now closed.

Just waiting to hear...

Well two front men, and yet who's going to be pinging them around/into Carroll. I hope we've got the right tactics or wide men to cope with a formation change...

Complete turnaround up front.

One great striker out.

Two good strikers in that have never played together or with the team.

Will be interesting anyway.

I do feel sorry for Newcastle fans, as we pretty much did to them what Chelsea and Torres did to us, and it looks like they didn't manage to replace him.

That's probably it now then. I'd say our first team looks a bit stronger than at the start of the window, but our squad is still looking a bit threadbare.
