I don't care if I get negged to death but you guys are fucking mental if you think this is a good signing. 35 million for someone as unproven as Carroll is just insane not to mention he appears to be a fucking headcase off the pitch, do you really think he's going to score 20 goals a season?

For that price I would expect it minimum, The 27mill City spent on Dzeko is looking like a bargain now!

Agreed on Dzeko, if Torres had opened his fucking gob we could've sorted something out selling him to City and getting the Bosnian. Instead, he sat on it to get his utterly bizarre move to Chelsea and now we're scrabbling. I'd not pay that much for Carroll and I would've preferred Llorente. I am nervous, I admit. I trust Kenny, I'm unsure about Comolli. If FSG are prepared to risk it and it won't affect our spending in the summer then okay, huge fucking risk but we'll see...

I would have faith in Comolli. He does have an eye for spotting talent and assembled a decent squad at Spurs, which Redknapp has taken to better things.

What the!

This is crazy, what lollercoaster. I might start drinking, who's with me?!

I'm game. I have the live feeds from BBC, Guardian, and Sky Sports all open on my second monitor at work... I'm worried that when I leave the office I might miss something

Liverpool today signed 17-year-old Conor Thomas from Coventry City on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent move.

The central midfielder, who has represented England U17s, made his full debut for the Championship outfit in this weekend's FA Cup defeat to Birmingham City.

Thomas will be based with the reserves at the Academy

Andy Carroll is potentially class but at 35m I'd snap your hand off to be honest.

What's the general vibe on it up there Geordie??

As a southern based mag whilst the money is ludicrous i fear it would be a backward step for us. Cashley would pocket the lions share of the dough and we'd be left with 10 minutes to find another stiker, when everyone know's we've got loads of money so price would inflate upon any enquiry we made.

Sorry for somewhat derailing the Liverpool thread but as it looks like Carroll's on his way it's kinda linked!

Blackpool accept Liverpool's bid for Charlie Adam according to SSN and he's on his way, in a car sent by Liverpool.
Liverpool FC confirmed this afternoon that Newcastle United had accepted a Club record offer for the transfer of Andy Carroll.

The Club have been given permission by Newcastle to discuss personal terms with the player, who will now travel to Liverpool for a medical.

 this is crazy!

I'm off to footy - I fully expect 5 transfers confirmed when I get back.
