I'm not going to pay attention to some whinger, or two, who can't accept me having an opinion on things.

'Wah, wah, this nasty man is in our topic and he's telling us the truth. Make him stop!'

You're the childish ones throwing abuse around. I suggest you stop posting.

You think you're being nasty? I just find you tedious.

Thge timing does stink. Clearly he was waiting until we failed to get Suarez before asking for a move so he could say we hadn't signed anybody. The fact we got Suarez fucked things up for him and now he looks like a turd.

The only question is will we get more for him in the summer, if so keep him until then, if not sell him now.

I would have thought that buying Suarez doesn't really address the bigger issues we have, that we lack pace and width and our defence has no adequate cover. Yes, we need a striker, but I've had said the other areas are hurting us more overall.

Still, £50m is a lot of money, not something we'd get in the summer I wouldn't think.

The rule has been in place for years, because it's dead easy to rile up football fans by going into their threads and trolling, and it pisses people off and turns threads to shit. By common consent we don't do it on here. There are a million other football forums to troll who don't have that agreement, so go to one of them.

Luis Suarez is expected to complete his transfer from Ajax to Liverpool on Monday after successfully passing a medical this weekend.

The Club agreed a fee of up to 26.5million Euros with Ajax for the transfer of the Uruguayan international on Friday and a Liverpool FC spokesperson tonight said: "Luis Suarez has successfully passed his medical and personal terms with the player have been agreed. We expect to complete the remainder of the paperwork tomorrow."

One bit of good news anyway.

£50m and Anelka on loan (with them paying his wages), I would take. Laughable to label Anelka as world class though.

He's a little more versatile than Torres though. You could have him on the left, Maxi on the right and Suarez through the middle, suddenly you have quite a decent attack. I think £40m plus Anelka would be easy to say yes to.

I think we need to get a striker in the deal and I agree that £40 million plus Anelka wouldn't work out too badly for us. We could get a winger and a defender and still have change in the Summer.

I'd want a fairly lengthy loan if it was going to be a loan deal though at least 18 months.

I'd much rather £50m plus Anelka on loan til the summer. Gives us time to find a younger striker rather than spending a transfer fee and big wages on someone who's past his peak.

I agree. Whilst I would have no problem seeing Anelka return for the rest of the season, the figures being quoted suggest that we would be valuing him at £10million which - given his age - seems excessive. Having him around short term to avoid having to rely even more on N'Gog and Suarez finding his feet the second he puts on the red shirt would be essential. Especially considering (although this information is from Alan Green so may be incorrect) Suarez is ineligible for the Europa League, leaving us with only N'Gog who can play up front for us in that competition.

What other options are there? Did Ecclestone get shipped out as rumoured? Nemeth has gone hasn't he? Maybe Kenny really rates Pacheco and this is all designed to free up a space in the team for him.

The main problem I have with Anelka is that he seems moody, sulky and like he can't be arsed when he's playing the the Champions League with Chelsea... so fuck knows what he'd be like playing for us! Just the kind of player we don't need!

Why is Suarez ineligible for the Europa League? Didn't Ajax get dumped out of the CL qualifiers?

And Eccleston's on loan at the moment, I think at Charlton. Nemeth was sold to a Greek side last summer because we needed the £500k

Anyway, Anelka's not coming and we don't want Sturridge.

Think Ajax get to play in the next round of the Europa League, so Suarez would have been eligible to play then and so, ineligble to play for us in the same competition. Stupid rules. Similar to the Maxi scenario last season?

Best outcome today is that we keep Torres and sign another player or two.

Next best outcome is Torres goes, we sign a quality replacement and someone else.

What will probably happen is we sell Torres and Suarez is our only signing.

I think you might be right DeNeo. How on earth will we manage to secure a decent striker in 15hours?! I just hope the club don't think we can rely on what we have at the moment, minus Torres to see us through the season. Potential top 6 finish turns into mid table obscurity if that happens IMO.

Best case scenario is Torres wakes up today, thinks, what the fuck is wrong with me, Liverpool are on the up, why the fuck would I want to go and play for those whinging bastards!

...the one thing that really grates though is that he came out not long ago and said he sticks by his contracts and sees them through, UNLESS the club want him out. Lying shit bag.

One official transfer for us so far today:

Paul Konchesky has gone out on loan to Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Kenny Dalglish had nothing to report on Fernando Torres at this morning's press conference, but he did reveal that Jamie Carragher was back from injury and available for Wednesday's clash with Stoke.

From today's Echo:

LIVERPOOL will only entertain selling want-away Fernando Torres if they can immediately bring in a top level striker as a replacement.

As Torres’ insistence on a move to Chelsea hardened over the weekend, Liverpool have reluctantly been forced to consider pragmatic alternatives.

The Reds want at least £40m for the Spaniard, plus a recognised top-level forward to fill the gap the 26-year-old would leave.

A part-exchange deal involving cash and Chelsea’s Nicolas Anelka, effectively taking the value of the transfer to £50m, a British transfer record, could tempt Anfield bosses.

But this would be a last resort as Liverpool are set to spend the rest of today trying to persuade Torres to stay on Merseyside.
