Coming from the guy that was questioning us signing him before he'd kicked a ball for us based on a few World Cup games? Bit rich that, mate. I was right then, and I'm right now. I'm not making him 'sound trousers', I'm being realistic. You're being your typical, stubborn self. I've watched the guy play whenever I can for the last 6 or 7 years. He's great but he does have limitations.

What a great point! I admitted entirely I was wrong on Torres when he came to the club, and I said that at the time after he showed us just how good he was. Why is it rich for someone to turn around and say they were wrong as I did, I guess that's just being stubborn... :sherlock:

I'm not sure why you brought Heskey into it but I will say this about him: he links the play better than our Nando. He's not even close to Torres' level, but he does certain things better than him. Get the picture?

The picture I'm getting is that if you were a manager you would play Heskey ahead of Torres as a link player/second striker/support striker! Interesting :P

And the irony is that I've always believed and said you to be the best poster here, so I have no idea why we're arguing. Where's ramone when you need him, FOR ONCE! :(

I would play somebody that could link the play off Torres so that he could concentrate on skinning defences. All I'm saying is we should be playing to his strengths more because, under the right conditions, he is the best striker around. Tasking someone else with linking with the midfield and dropping deep to thread balls through, frees him up to get on the end of passes. I'm not saying that's all he can do, just that he should be spending the majority of his time doing it because it's what he's best at, and it's when he's at his most dangerous.

Dalgish talking about transfers.

we have a huge responsibility to do our business in a way that has been done since I've known the club and that is in private."

This is nice to hear as it isn't something we have been doing much in the last few years as we've let our standards slip.

Now, please can we sign someone (or two someones) good before the end of the transfer window. Luis Suaraz certainly seems to fit the bill but what about a winger?!

I'm sure that I read something the other day about Warnock coming back to us on loan for the rest of the season, but this rumour seems to have completely disappeared. That wouldn't be the worst move and, coupled with our apparent attempt to hijack Hammill's move to Wolves suggests that Dalglish is looking to retcon some of Benitez's moves. Which, obviously brings me to suggest that we bring back Luis Garcia to support Torres...

The Suarez move is an odd one. He is a big name player, and certainly the sort of marquee signing that would help the owners look good (not that I have anything against them) but the squad needs more than one big name signing - particularly as it looks like we're shipping out Babel. Unless things are happening quietly behind the scenes we'll be pinning a lot of our hopes on Suarez immediately adjusting to the Premier League and playing alongside Torres. It does appear that Johnson is sticking around now that Hodgson has gone, and that Konchesky will be given away with a box of cereal at the next possible opportunity.

Speaking of which, what do you guys think of Adam Hamill? We do like our wingers at Wolves, so he should fit in well, and after watching a few videos on YouTube he looks ad good as messi! Were Liverpool fans sad to see him leave at the time, or did you not see him being good enough?

How are you feeling about today's game? I really think this game could go either way to be honest.

He's got tricks, that boy. No idea how much he's bulked up since leaving but he's got two good feet so you'll at least enjoy his runs.

We were sad to see him go but he wasn't going to get many starts so for the sake of his career, it was best he moved. Plus the mood around the club till recently has been utter shit.

As for today's game, hopeful optimism. Signs of improvement are there but depends on how the players perform in the second half.

The Liverpool team in full is: Reina, Kelly, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Maxi, Lucas, Poulsen, Kuyt, Meireles, Torres. Subs: Gulacsi, Cole, Pacheco, Aurelio, Spearing, Kyrgiakos, Shelvey.

Hmm. That bench looks incredibly weak - 2 left backs!

EDIT: Subs updated, Pacheco in for Konchesky.

Skrtel, poor first touch there then could have given away a pen - another danger performance from his thus far argh! Makes me more nervous.

Even Agger now, grah!

I'm wondering how many crap shots Meireles will manage in this match.

How didn't, Spearman was it, get a yellow for blatantly taking Torres from behind when Poulson got a yellow card because the crowd got a bit loud. Pscht.
