 something is seriously rotten in this squad. how after such a good first half? i feel this job might break Daglish. The reality is dawning upon me that we could actually be relegated

bit of an exaggeration. Yes they came out better in the second half, but it's hardly beyond us. Especially as you post it as we are getting back into it!

Overall, not bad. Everton should never have been able to get back into it, but they came out of the blocks and took us by surprise.

Torres looks properly fired up again, the play in general was of a high quality, and we should have put more away. The defence needs shoring up, but this is not news as it's been a constant problem for years.

We look like a team rather than the loosely associated collection of people we had been looking like

poor. theres few things more depresssing at the moment then watching liverpool play. I guess the only thing that has come good of this is that the daft notion of Daglish as some kind of saviour can be begun to be put to bed. Hopefully i in the summer we can get in a new young manager supply him the funds to get rid of the rot and begin new era and period of transition. This season is a write off, just avoid relegation.

sorry we were poor yet again. This result and performance would have been deemed unacceptable under Roy

Roy's tenure was a disaster but to be fair to the man he unfairly got flak before he deserved it

That's definitely true, but it doesn't take away from the fact that for 75% of the game today we played better than we did at any point under Hodgson.

no, we played better against Arsenal and Chelsea to name but two and you can hardly place Everton in the same league as them. And the Spurs game is probably the best we played away all season and i don't see that changing under Daglish

At least you're giving him a chance, eh? You complain about Roy getting 'undeserved flak', yet the only thing you've said about Kenny's appointment has been... yep: undeserved flak.

We looked decent there but the side clearly has problems and it's how we go about addressing that which I'm most interested in. I'd be happy to see movement during the transfer window if only to stop some shoddy complacency in the side.

I agree with this and have said simiar before the Man U game. It's disappointing to see that - once again - we can put a good half of football together but look completely different in the second half. I wonder what our how many second-halves we've 'lost' over the last 2 seasons from winning/drawing positions in the first-half? Quite a few I'd imagine.

Wolves (a), Fulham and Stoke at home. Can anybody see us winning any of those? On current evidence I'd say we don't have the creativity to break-down Wolves and Fulham, or the necessary muscle in midfield to out-battle Stoke.

I know Kenny is saying all the right things at the moment (especially around transfers and working with the squad we have) but we need quality players, quickly. The fact that we've been playing Glen Johnson at left back proves we have a real issue there and he obviously isn't a fan of Aurelio (Konchesky was injured, wasn't he?). Did someone mention a while back that Insua's due back this month? Be nice to have a left-footer there for starters.

Defensively we seem to get worse every game but at least going forward we are improving.

The atmosphere sounded amazing hope you had a good time at the game SMD.

Well aside from being disappointed with not getting the win and getting all sorts of abuse that crossed the line from the Bluenoses, was a great occasion and I was proud to have been there. Not quite as electric as it could've been (the call was to be in for 1pm but most people turned up at quarter to 2 - bastards) but still a much better atmosphere than in recent weeks.

Sorting through photos at the moment, will try and get some nice high quality pictures of the Kop online. Will give my thoughts on the match later, once I've had a chance to reflect.

Although it makes Torres sound unprofessional I really think it is dalglish that has caused his improvement.

In his book (got bought it for Xmas!) he talks a lot about looking up to dalglish and wanting to emulate him.

It also helps that he's no longer being used as the point of reference. Kenny said he'd get him the support on the pitch that he requires in order to do his job, and things have been much better in that regard over the last two games. We're still not hitting him early enough, on the whole, but hopefully that will improve with time and some added Stevie.

Yeah, Torres actually had some space today! Which was created by all the supportive forward running. It's no coincidence Torres played well today. I've seen games with Torres where he literally has not had 1 yard of space for 90 minutes!

Well he had absolutely no space for his best chance, the difference was he made an effort.

That depends how you look at it, isn't it...

Well yeah, that was the reason for my reply.

You're looking at it that he made an effort, which there was certainly an element of.

I'm looking at it that the times he looked dangerous was when he recieved the ball in positions he's more dangerous.
