I wasn't just referring to the final, which of course is the only game United were against the ropes in the entirity of the 99 campaign.

I think he is being serious, as proven by his last post.

You forget being 1-0 down to Juve at home until the last second then the equaliser. At that time Utd hadn't won in Italy for what seemed like 8 million years. They went 2-0 down to a brilliant Juve side in the second leg, in Italy after what, 10 minutes? The captain gets booked early and Keane knows he'll miss the final.

Does that start to jog your memory? If you mean that season as a whole then I'd say the Arsenal semi final and Liverppol games in the FA Cup as games that looked less than peachy at moments.

Edit- Phresh!

I hope that whatever happens between now and the end of the season that Kenny's relationship with the club and fans isn't damaged and that ambitions for the remainder of the season are tempered. Maybe a last 16 place in the Euro league isn't unrealistic, and who knows with a kind draw?

My memory doesn't need jogging, I just didn't find it as fascinating.

But then, i'm a Liverpool fan.

You didn't, and I didn't say you did. I just don't think the United situations were as against the ropes as what Liverpool faced.

Again, where did I say it was? All i've said is that we didn't stroll to the final as you are suggesting and that the 'experience' of being a United fan in that final probably wasn't all that much different to Liverpool. Remember that at the point we hadn't won the CL for god knows how long.

Anyway, I concede my original point was a bit overblown. Obviously as a Liverpool I will find more satisfaction following my team, and feel more emotion when seeing them scrape through intense matches like those in 05.

I was simply trying to bat away the bizarre post of one United fan on the previous page, who thinks Liverpools miraculous road to the final was unjust. Perhaps I should have simply said i'd rather support the underdog than the team expected to win.

Liverpool winning the Champions League was a joke, they hadn't even been close to being champions in about fifteen years and didn't even finish in the top four that season. It was a laughable.

That is "The Champions League" as it is now... we all know that. To be honest I prefer it like that even if Liverpool aren't benefiting from it. The thought of having an misfiring Chelsea representing England all on their own this season would be depressing!

The final was great, I agree, but the whole issue with regard to Liverpool not being champions for so long and that season not even finishing in a Champions League spot really irked me. There can't be anyone who saw them lift that trophy and thought 'well, they've really proved something tonight and are now the best team in Europe (or even one of the best)'. I'd have said exactly the same had United done that.

You wouldn't find a team like Real Madrid doing that, I can tell you!

Posts like that are exactly why you got fucking blanked when you PM'd me begging for a copy of a game you had seen me offer somebody else. You know why I sold it to him on the cheap? Because he's a Red, and a good lad. You know why I didn't even bother to reply to your message? Because you are scum.

This doesn't seem to have been mentioned, but the BBC have reported the following after speaking to Dalglish and the Director of Football Comoli

- Dalglish is a candidiate for being the full time manager after the end of the season as he fits Comoli's requirements

- Dalglish says he is happy to do whatever the club wants, he'll stay if wanted and step down if a full time replacement is found at the end of the season because thats the job he was asked to do.

- There were no conditions placed on or by Dalglish and he has the final say on transfers. He believes the owners will leave it to him and Camoli to decide what to do about players
